Corporations and capitalist elites remain reliant on .gov. Cycle of dependency continues.

I never said that corps weren't dependent on .gov.
You act like it's an either OR proposition.
Politicians on both sides love to keep their constituents wanting more. The Republicans do it to big businesses, The Democrats do it to the poor and downtrodden city residents.

Yep. On Wed night, the police station was clearly the target of protesters. They were in a stand off with a line of police in riot gear, with SWAT snipers in overwatch rooftop positions. The National Guard had been deployed & should have surrounded the police station by sunset on Thurs.kramerica.inc wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 1:06 pmFair nuff. Essentially, getting those Fire Fighters in there would entail the Mayor ordering that the police defend the station with force and clear the area..and clear that are fast enough to get the FD in quickly enough to save the building.
I cannot imagine that that would end well, wouldn't you agree?
Rock and a hard place. That's where the mayor was. With no "right" moves available. So to answer your question, it was the wrong decision with no "right" decisions available without risking more serious problems than property damage. The Mayor was F'ed.
A robust police presence, backed up by NG troops, was needed to allow Fire & EMS access.
There was ample time for the Mayor to coord with the Gov to prepare. Instead, he went on Rachel Maddow.

I was just listening to a beat reporter (marine from Townhall) that was on the ground there all day and last night. He indicated there clearly looked to be a difference between the daytime protesters (mainly peaceful) and the damaging riot behavior in the evening. As if possible another orchestrated event took place.... ANTIFA?old salt wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 3:47 pmYep. On Wed night, the police station was clearly the target of protesters. How can Brooklyn plausibly accuse Minnesotans of racism when the DFL is the go-to party in the state, it has two Democratic Senators, a democratic Governor, and practically a socialist mayor of Minneapolis? Even Ilhan Omar is from the state. Hillary won the state!
Let's be real: this is a Democratic controlled state (to their detriment of course, but not relevant).
Maybe Democrats have a closeted racist ethos we need to address?
Re: Racism in America- Riots Explode in Minneapolis
Petey -- ICYMI, this cop was just charged with murder 3. That's still MURDER, not manslaughter.
Could increase to Murder 2 or even Murder 1.
In broad daylight.
While being filmed and urged by citizens to not murder the guy.
While the man was handcuffed on the ground and begging for his life.
While three officers stood by threatening to mace or taze anyone who tried to intervene to disrupt the unfolding slow motion murder.
And zero words of concern or outrage from you.
What the fork is wrong with you?

What the heck is wrong with you?
One thing I have learned Gary Gait is, wait for the facts.
Does it look like murder? Yes.
Is the cop a power-mad jerkoff? Yes.
Can you be sure this cop will go down? No.
The preliminary autopsy was just released right now, and the results suggest that the deceased died of causes unrelated to the cop's knee. This is Freddy Gray 2, except here, the cop was clearly in the wrong for leaning on this dude.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has found “no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation,” after conducting an autopsy on George Floyd on May 26..
Democrats dearly, desperately want this to be a too-perfect tied-in-a-bow story to make the perfect case that America (except the person saying so, of course...) is full of racist 'Republican' knuckledraggers and therefore we must atone by going full-on socialist, but guess what? Smarter minds wait for the full story to come out.
What's wrong with ME? lol. I didn't rush to judgment on Duke or UVA. I won't here as well. Maybe what's wrong with America is an insatiable thirst for blame, punishment, and narrative?
Meanwhile Dems burn down a city, burn stores, loot the goods, and cause hard-working hourly wage earners to lose their jobs because 'justice' or something. Great effort everyone.

This cop tortured the guy to his death for no reason in broad daylight.
And all you care about is your heck pathetic deplorable disgusting partisan bull turd and lies.
I will now gladly take my penalty from the mods for calling you out Petey as a low life piece of turd.
See you all in a few weeks.

Yes. What's wrong with you. What the heck do political parties have to do with this incident? Not one person has mentioned how anyone involved in this mess votes, FFS, Pete. This is about Civil Rights. A subject you told us was your #1 concern when it comes to politics. You're sure not acting like that's the case here.
You're telling us that you don't want to jump to any conclusions in this case. And that'd be fine, except you had NO RESERVATIONS about jumping to conclusions with all your complaints about how Flynn was handled.

Unlike most, I would never seek you to be placed in a time out no matter what you say about me. Most Democrats (I assume you are one based on your litany of posts) get fairly fried when someone prefers facts, patience, and nuance.
More importantly, you are wrong here: the cop did not torture the guy 'to death'. He died of other causes, assuming the coroner is not corrupt and issued his findings in a neutral manner (which I will assume since coroners aren't generally partisan). Was the cop an arse? Sure. Many are. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
And so far as me caring about partisan anything: I don't care about partisan anything; I call out Dems and Republicans where they deserve it, mostly dems since I find their policies to be antithetical to American excellence. I think George W was the worst president this country has ever had; failry sure he was a Republican.

Civil rights are not about bending the knee to the mob. Civil rights are about standing up for the rights of the one guy in the universe that everyone hates. Why do I mention Democrats? Because they are throwing gasoline on a situation they have zero clue about other than the video, which is frankly par for the course for the mentality of the average Democrat these days; it's all woke narrative to get to the end, the end being socialism.
The coroner has come out with his results. They don't square with your preferred narrative. How will YOU handle that? Did you admit guilt if you immediately said a fraternity at UVA was guilty of rape, when there wasn't even a party?
Stand up sometimes for the lonely guy out there, a fan; don't always echo the mob's demand you be part of their imbecilic crowd. That is civil rights.

Democrats are already blaming Trump.
Maxine waters vehemently
The democrat mayor sought to lay off blame by accusing 400 years of racism.
There have been 50 years of democrat mayors promising to make life better for their black constituents.
And telling them that republicans hate them.
And as PB pointed out ALL the senior leaders federal state and local are democrats. And they're blaming Trump.

PB, the dude kept saying over and over and over pleading that he could not breath. Eventually he passed out and could not plead for his life anymore. YES the police tortured him and caused his death. The video is disgusting and revolting. I have not heard any experienced police officers say this was a proper way to subdue a suspect. Common effing sense tells you don't put your freaking boot on the guys neck. What SHOULD have happened was one of the police officers at the scene should have dragged his ass off of the man. The fact these other officers stood by and watched this... DEPLORABLE.
We don't make mistakes, we have happy accidents.
