The Whistleblower Act rules!!! Government employees snitch on each other with reckless abandon, grinding most government work to an even further halt. Bryan is a clown. Excellent!

Karl's question came at 6:19 pm, while the DHS guy was still at the podium. What time was Trump's riff ?MDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 8:40 amWhoa, I watched it live. ok, so this fellow Bryan just tells us about the impact of sunlight on the half life of the virus..UV rays making the virus die faster...
Makes a lot of sense.
But then Trump talks about blasting people with UV rays....then he suggests sticking UV rays INSIDE -people!!!
Keeps blathering on...
Then, we get a question back to Bryan about putting sunlight inside people...he says, we don't do that in our lab.
Of course, you don't!!!
Trump tries to get him to agree...
I rolled it back and watched it again, it was so outrageous...and he kept doubling down.
It was exactly as described.

Reagan wanted all those shiny new military toys. I remembered seeing some of them come on line. Our Hueys went away to be replaced by Blackhawks. The M60 tanks were replaced by M1s. M113s were replaced by Bradleys and so on and so on and so forth that was for all the branches of the military. You can disagree all day long and I understand that. Reagan was never going to get what he wanted without giving Tip something in return. Their horse trading was chicken feed to what goes on today. You and I both know that's a big, fat lie.
Bush could have cut government all he wanted. He had Congress.
Trump, too. For two years.
What did they do, instead? You got it. Bush outspent Clinton, and blew the budget surplus.
And Trump blew by Obama-level spending BEFORE this crisis hit. Trump will go down as the biggest big government President of all time.
All while his fans deny the math, and deny what Trump did.....

Or are you buying into the total lie that Trump was just responding to a question or talking to a reporter when he initially went into his long, winding set of questions to Bryan and Birx?
The question came later.
Did you not want to ask the question too?
I was yelling at the TV for someone to ask it.
My god, they weren't really recommending that people inject disinfectants, right?
and Trump doubled down. And went back to Bryan and Birx.
How can you troll on here at this point with "stupid presser question"??

I like "riff" and "riffing;" it makes the President sound cool. And in delicate matters of statecraft, you want someone who can knock out a sweet riff, even on unfamiliar ground. Why can't folks just acknowledge the President is a pumpkinhead?

ggait answered this question the other day, but to rephrase and paraphrase somewhat: if Trump was capable of much, he might be scary. Trump will be long gone after at most 5 more years, but his SCOTUS picks are here to stay. That to me is by far the most important issue of the day. And before you bleat on about foreign policy and wars, Obama surrounded himself with some real turkeys who caused long lasting damage, such as Ben Rhodes, Samantha Powers, Hillary Clinton, and a few other beauties who didn't have much warmth for such niceties as representative democracy. Trump oth elevated guys like Ric Grenell who are positively perfect in their disdain for underhanded ops in matters of state and security.

Without diving too much into this issue, what you should be aware of is every blue-check Twitter media guy is hyperventilating about this topic today. Hmmmm.
What normal people should have learned by now is, when the mob comes all-in for Trump on a too perfect narrative story, just like they did with UVA fraternities and Duke lax, it's nearly an impossibility they have the full picture, and what they're praying for (orange man worse than yesterday) ends up being far different.

Trump should resign. Boston Globe
Darn - Globe requires subscription.
But I think this addresses the same issue:
Trump 'severely mentally troubled' and must resign from coronavirus response, mental health group warns
World Mental Health Coalition urges president's impeachment or resignation for 'dangerous detachment to reality' that is making pandemic worse
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/worl ... 46771.html
Donald Trump is "so severely mentally troubled that he is a great danger to our nation" and must be removed from office, according to a group of international mental health professionals calling for the president to resign or for the "complete removal" of his decision-making powers leading the White House response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The World Mental Health Coalition has issued a "prescription for survival" that urges several calls to action, including the invocation of the 25th amendment of the US Constitution, which would relinquish the president from office once the chief executive is determined unfit.
The delusional-in-chief needs to quit before he does more damage to the USA and the world.

Yale preventive medicine and public health specialist Dr. David Katz on Maher's show last night advocating the "middle ground" between total shutdown and say, the Sweden model with perhaps a bit more in terms or protecting vulnerable populations while allowing herd immunity to take control.
He makes a lot of sense. I'd surely be interested in what some of the science-based folks here think of his suggestions.

Re: All things Chinese CoronaVirus
I was looking at cases in my former neighborhoods in Los Angeles and San Francisco. It’s astonishing how controlled the situation is there considering this is the Chinese Coronavirus. 10 cases in SF Chinatown, 7 cases in LA Chinatown.
There are almost double the cases where I live in Erie County, NY 2,738 compared to city/county of San Francisco 1,340.
They must be doing something right in the Golden State.

What happened was no one was paying attention and we’re 2 months ahead of the curve there.
Corona came through CA and was classified as a “bad flu season” in Dec-Feb.
And the weather- the temps there have been in the 100s there.
