One important point - he thinks the next year will essentially be lived under a state of "emergency" - so lots of changes will have to occur to modify lives for quite some time.
Not entirely true....I know of two families where one person in the household has CV19 and no one else in the family got it...they all lived under the same roof. Also, didn't' Cuomo and his family still live under the same roof? They do have forced air heating, which circulates the air throughout the home.

Drosten: We have to take shortcuts. If one person in a household tests positive, we could, for instance, consider the entire household to be positive, even without a test. Because we know that is what is going to happen: If one family member gets infected, they infect everyone else. If you say right away that the entire family is positive, you save yourself a lot of testing

Drosten: Those who have become infected will likely be immune for the rest of the pandemic, I would think – for a couple of years. And even if you were to become infected again, then it would be experienced as a harmless cold. The second infection wouldn't be as bad. That, at least, would be my best guess at present.
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

The Chinese Wuhan flu came to America in December via California. We can thank both the Chinese and Californian governments leadership for their help spreading this pandemic to the USA.

No fan of McConnell, I could care less about anything he says. King Andy has an unquenchable thirst for billions of dollars to bail his state out. Please ... Schumer and Pelosi have been negotiating directly with Mnuchin, completely bypassing McConnell.

Remember, McConnell only wanted a “clean” PPP bill. Didn’t get that ... but he passed what Mnuchin, Schumer, and Pelosi negotiated anyway.

PPP funding is going to run dry in less than a week. Soon, people everywhere will be demanding another stimulus check. Mnuchin and Trump will need more money from Pelosi, and she won’t let that happen in the next round unless there is a lot of money for state and local governments.

But Trump said this on Jan. 22:

“We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.”

This on Feb. 10:

“Looks like by April, you know, in theory, when it gets a little warmer, it miraculously goes away.”

And this on Feb. 27:

“It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”

Are you telling me Trump was wrong about all that?

19 cases doesn't seem to bad considering 1.5 million people went to the polls.
Not nearly that many voted in person on election day...

864750 returned absentee ballots so actually a bit more than 600K voted in person. And the case count may actually be quite a bit higher...

is there a source that ties the contacts and contraction to the polling locations? abc and cnn seem to say there isn't any as of today. sourcing tpm, whose original report seems to confirm:
https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/wisc ... lection-19

basically just says they found 19 people with confirmed covid that voted.
OK, they don’t have conclusive proof that all 19 were infected at the polls, but it seems reasonable to conclude that the polls were the most likely source. Other sources were “possible,” but anything is possible.

And it wasn’t just voters who got sick. It was poll workers as well.

It is quite difficult to actually prove that the confirmed cases were infected while waiting in line or voting, but it still was a reckless and unnecessary exercise to not postpone voting (basically because the Rs knew they would lose if everyone voted because of the strong primary campaign for the WI Supreme Court case run by the Ds).

There is a bit of an uptick occurring in WI cases happening right now, but the noise in the data is fairly large and it is not certain if it is noise or real.
sure, i'd say it was some degree of reckless to be holding elections at the time. i guess. was it any more reckless than keeping grocery stores open? i dunno.
i'd say headlines and spokespeople making it sound like everyone got infected there, so people believe it's a fact --- seems kinda reckless just to score a few political points, too.

He has a million flaws but he still wields alot of political clout. Until he is gone you either work with him or you don't. The same is true of Pelosi and Schumer. ok, so this fellow Bryan just tells us about the impact of sunlight on the half life of the virus..UV rays making the virus die faster...

Makes a lot of sense.

But then Trump talks about blasting people with UV rays....then he suggests sticking UV rays INSIDE -people!!!
Keeps blathering on...

Then, we get a question back to Bryan about putting sunlight inside people...he says, we don't do that in our lab.

Of course, you don't!!!

The sooner we get back to work, the sooner we will all be back at home.

It was poll workers as well.
i saw one poll worker. maybe there were more. maybe they vote also before their shift is out.
i saw earlier today you were an attorney? why would it seem reasonable to conclude the polls were the most likely source? what do you base that on?
I’ve probably read the same several articles that you and others have read.

I haven’t seen anything that broke down the 19 cases into those who were only voters and those who were poll workers (who also may have voted).

The report say that “several” of those infected reported other “possible exposures.” While concededly I am drawing conclusions from reporting, which is often imprecise, the available information we have suggests that the large majority of the 19 have not identified other possible sources of the exposure.

Also, certainly a poll worker would have been possibly exposed during a multi-hour shift in which the worker would have been in close proximity to the voters and would have handed papers back and forth.

It was widely reported that voters had to stand in line for hours. Certainly voters could’ve been exposed during that time.

Without any other information about what the “possible” sources were for “several” of the persons who became infected, I think it is a reasonable conclusion to draw that the most likely source was the polling stations.

If there is additional reporting on this down the road, I would certainly take a look at it.

ok, so this fellow Bryan just tells us about the impact of sunlight on the half life of the virus..UV rays making the virus die faster...

Solid points for that reference.

AP poll: only 23% of Americans say they have high levels of trust in what the president is telling the public. And only about half of Republicans say they have a lot of trust in Trump’s information on the pandemic.
