Thank you for bringing back the discussion! I thought i was going to read four more pages of FOGO / 2-way middie talk that belongs on the main JHU forum.

Yeah, Hop sucks. But Petro is not the reason they suck. Petro is going to win a couple nattys at a place that will let him work, bookmark this post.
Hopkins issues are an extreme SJW infection, horrendous location, lack of a “fun” environment, extremely quastionable coeds, and generally not a lot to appeal to a lax bro or his family. Having a dope Med school doesn’t appeal to guys who plan on working at a hedge fund. And if guys were willing to live in a third world hovel of despair in exchange for academic “preftige” they’d choose Yale or UPenn. Hop is just sad.

Not sure what this has to do with getting a new coach at Homewood? Unless, of course, you take the reality seriously. That Bill B, was really going to be the next Hopkins coach. he was. Had one more season to prove its HIM: why they win....but the V-19 moved the plan ahead, and you can't blame all parties. At all.

The primary reason why people are frustrated is not due to Hopkins not winning championships year in and year out, it's due to the fact that the team is not blowing out teams like Mount Saint Mary's.
Re: Johns Hopkins Coach Search
My top choice would be Jeff Tambroni. He's shown he can turn around the direction of programs (penn state is just 4 years removed from a 8-7 schedule and 5-9 before that). It should not be limited to Hopkins alums and does not need to be.
Re: Johns Hopkins Coach Search
Not really. But this thread is about Hopkins next coach. So take it somewhere else.

What about Quint Kessenich?
Hopkins All American. Knows what he is talking about. Has his finger on the pulse of the game nationwide. High School players know him so he won't have a problem recruiting. He can represent the school well on TV. He can return to broadcasting after his career.

While we are at it....let's make Jay Bilas the coach at Duke when K retires. Maybe OSU should have hired Kirk Herbstreit when Urban stepped down?swf wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 7:26 pm What about Quint Kessenich?

I understand the sentiment of your post. Q certainly knows the game and is seemingly connected to the pulse. But contrary to what some may believe, actual job experience is required. Q talks about the sport being a meritocracy. So is coaching. This job goes to a seasoned head coach. I would be SHOCKED if they hired someone with less than five years head coaching experience.
Re: Johns Hopkins Coach Search
Quint might be an interesting choice as an assistant, but not sure why he'd take such a pay cut.swf wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 7:26 pm What about Quint Kessenich?

A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

Re: Johns Hopkins Coach Search
That was part of my point as well, just didn't see the discussion having a connection to the coaching selection predictions.
Of course, I also think it's a bit silly, on its face, to suggest that one would prefer to lose 80% of FO's rather than win them. But a topic best suited to another thread.
