Whatever the WHO may or may not have done wrong can certainly be investigated, but if you read the linked article, it is clear that the WHO is helping greatly in various parts of the world. And the WHO did provide ample warnings for other countries to ramp up efforts to fight COVID-19. Trump chose to ignore much of it (and was heaping praise on Xi while getting a lot of lies from the Chinese because he was afraid of screwing up his "negotiations" over trade/his trade war with China).

The WHO is an indispensable organization to the US and the wealthier parts of the world. By effectively fighting problems elsewhere it keeps some of that problem away from the US, as well as helps the world's economy.

Throwing a tantrum over the WHO at this time really is counterproductive. Further lowers the standing of the US around the world, and does not help anything healthwise - but it does throw red meat at his base angry about China due to the steady stream of cr*p streaming from Fox News Opinion.

The "V-19 social experiment" is actually not that. Social distancing has been practiced for centuries - for example - the various plagues of the middle ages. And in the WWI flu pandemic, it was quite easy to show that places where social interaction was high instead of SD and even isolation (infamous Philadelphia parade that ignited a huge hotspot is a great example) were bad for spreading the flu, and various forms of isolation worked much better. And in the many epidemics/pandemics since then this has been reinforced. So if you want to see the proof - start reading the scientific literature for epidemiology. Perhaps you might want to get an advanced degree in it so you might actually understand it.

It is clear that you do not at this time have a good understanding of the science behind epidemiology - and your doubts about the science seem to be more due to your dislike for the restrictions that have been placed on society. And I cannot help but speculate that your news sources may be less than reliable.

One of the hallmarks of science is that trying to get a specific result does not work. If you have a bias toward a particular result - it is likely that your practice of science will fail. The results are what they are.

And for Sweden - they are paying the price for their openness - those who choose to interact widely are getting CV at a high rate, and that is leading to a relatively high death rate. This is in spite of a pretty good health system... But the economy that depends on social interaction (restaurants, small shops, etc) is STILL taking a beating economically.
