When did the Yale football coach win the national championship?
Johns Hopkins 2021
Re: Johns Hopkins 2021
I'll certainly miss seeing Pietramala on the Hopkins sideline in the coming season. He really started off strong at Hopkins, but had sort of diminishing returns in recent years.
I saw an interview with Scott Marr, within the past few years, where he strongly stated that he wished to stay at UAlbany and finish up his coaching career there. People do change their minds though.

Fair enough, but a coaching change would probably qualify you for a release, no?
Hopefully they wait to see who Hopkins hires, and then that person can get them excited about staying.

Tweet from Joel Tinney;
“To the coach that was more like his players than I knew, recruited me at 15 years old, Had my back on and off the field more than any coach could’ve. I wish I had done more in my four years to help you stay cuz it’s what you deserved. Hopkins royalty. Thank you @CoachPetro43”

Re: Thank you, Coach Pietramala
Would like to also thank Coach Benson, Coach Dwan, Coach Quinn, and all the others who made the Pietramala era at Hopkins so remarkable. Thank you and best wishes to all.DocBarrister wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 2:18 pm One of the greatest lacrosse players of all time.
One of the greatest lacrosse coaches of all time.
Dave Pietramala will always be a Legend of Johns Hopkins Lacrosse.
Some absolutely great memories from both his playing and coaching days.
Thank you for everything, Coach.
Looking forward to watching where your career takes you.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2021
The school can release doesn't mean they have too. And, more than likely many will wait to see who the next HC will be. I'm pretty sure incoming players can't be contacted by other coaches. Now, whether an incoming player (or someone on his behalf) makes a call to another coach is another story.
I would guess most incoming guys will wait to see where they end up. But, there is already going to be a feeding frenzy for all the 5th years running around and money will be tight already. There might be a guy that leaves but I'd bet some money that the players listed as going to Hopkins in September will be the same number of guys that show up.

All good things come to those that wait. Can finally be a Hopkins Lacrosse fan again! #ByeDave
Tinney went back at him saying Cattoni was a joke.

From Dom Starsia
It is a challenge for D1 college coaches to remain really friendly. The battles in the recruiting can be as ferocious as those on game day. I have a profound respect for DP, based on the personal quality I respect above all others, honesty. He is a man of great integrity.

Breaking: Dave Pietramala, Johns Hopkins Mutually Agree To Part Ways
Tuesday April 14th, 2020 11:55am
Pietramala departs as the winningest coach in Johns Hopkins men's lacrosse history. He compiled a record of 207-93 with 18 NCAA Tournament appearances, seven trips to the final four (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2015), four appearances in the national championship game (2003, 2005, 2007, 2008) and the two national championships. He also guided the Blue Jays to a pair of Big Ten Tournament titles (2015, 2018) since Johns Hopkins joined the Big Ten in 2015.
In addition to the on-field success, Pietramala coached seven CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 11 USILA Scholar All-Americans, 67 Academic All-Big Ten selections and seven Big Ten Distinguished Scholars. Johns Hopkins' seven CoSIDA Academic All-Americans during Pietramala's 20 seasons at Homewood are tied for the most in the nation among Division I men's lacrosse programs during that time.

Tributes From Three of Petro’s Best
Both surprised and overwhelmed with emotion by this. Coach Petro invited me and so many into the Hopkins family, and I’m fortunate to have a lifetime of memories I’ll cherish with him — he‘s the game’s greatest combo HOF player and coach, ever.

So many thoughts, probably too much for a twitter thread, at least for now. Thank you, @CoachPetro43. Took a chance on a skinny kid from Friends School, and man what a run we had.

Dom is the best player in the 2022 class. Every team in the country is going to want him. I don't know much about the other twin.
