He has not been reported to be in the transfer portal yet. Discussions about a potential destination for him were solely based on Yale not allowing seniors to return and play. But he very well may decide to get a job or go pro instead of transfer.DocBarrister wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2020 5:54 pmThanks for the list. The Yale Sr all have a championship ring so do they chase another one? Except for Ierlan who has said he is not coming back.HopFan16 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2020 6:07 pmHe has not been reported to be in the transfer portal yet. Re: Transfer Portal
The portal shows this: Ohio State - Josh Kirson (goalie), Christian Tomei (goalie)
I get why Tomei might want to transfer, but a modicum of research shows that Kirson got all the starts and played pretty well. Why would he want out of that? Trouble in Columbus? Maybe Petro called?

Re: Transfer Portal
Kirson was a red-shirt junior and has been at OSU 4 years, and thus might be finishing up his undergraduate degree this spring. It is not that unusual for student athletes to transfer to another school to work on a graduate degree.Unknown Participant wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2020 8:42 pm The portal shows this: Ohio State - Josh Kirson (goalie), Christian Tomei (goalie)

Former @YaleLacrosse LSM and @ILPreps' No. 6 freshman BJ Burlace tells me that he'll be transferring to in-state @TerpsMLax for next season.

Tip of the cap to Laxxal and JRN for calling this one.

Re: Transfer Portal
Minicus will have a market. Was definitely a, "Wait, he's going DIII?!" guy coming out of Darien. A standout player during an especially dominant run for the Blue Wave and followed up with NESCAC ROY and 3x AA. I imagine there are a lot of former FCIAC guys at schools eligible to take grad students hyping him up to their coaches.

Agreed. Interested to see where he ends up, since I can't really recall which D1 schools were looking at him coming out of HS (Cornell was one, but as an Ivy that seems off the table). Wonder if he joins his brothers at Colgate?Laxxal22 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 11:54 am Minicus will have a market. Was definitely a, "Wait, he's going DIII?!" guy coming out of Darien. Re: Transfer Portal
Good read here on where Michael Sowers could end up. It's true that realistically there's only a handful of schools that seem to suit his athletic and academic interests.

Re: Transfer Portal
Colgate isn't an option (no grad programs), and neither is reuniting with Kevin Lindley at Loyola as Patriot League doesn't allow grad transfers. I imagine he's in play for places like Georgetown, Villanova, Michigan in terms of level of play and academic mix, but so are a lot of already D1 guys.random observer wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 5:19 pmAgreed. Obviously he slots behind Sowers, but I don't know if he is (more importantly is perceived as) the second best or tenth best attackman currently in the portal. Coming from the top public school program of the decade imo, and being "the guy" on an attack with two linemates who've had nice D1 careers, probably puts the perception closer to the second spot than the tenth.
I think for most NESCAC guys, with the academic transcripts to get into strong programs and no expectation of getting $, grad opportunities will likely fall into a preferred walk on/"I'm intrigued and 90% sure I won't cut you if you show up in the fall" status. No/low risk for the coach and let the kid bet on himself. Very few will see minutes that matter in D1 but Minicus can be a difference maker if he finds the right opportunity for another year.
