Some of the things they do on offense are similar to how Tambroni has always liked his offenses to be run. They don't run a lot, they're not a big fastbreak team, that's been his thing dating back to Cornell. When he had Pannell at Cornell he was totally willing to put the ball in the stick of one guy and let him run things a lot, which is what Ament did. They don't really have anyone on the roster who's built for that though. Pretty much everyone else is a goalscorer. Malone is still a sophomore and was feeding the ball more this year, maybe he could do it.Wheels wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 4:41 pm Man...if Ament is more of a harbinger for PSU, they're going lose more than just him. Does O'keefe come back? Does Kneese come back? Does Arceri come back? Foulds is already a 5th year senior. Does Cardille come back? This was a senior-laden team.
Ament made that offense go. Losing him is affects that team in a huge way. Will they totally rebuild that offense or keep it schematically the same?
But I'd expect a lot more dodging from the midfield and 1-on-1 play on the perimeter - another thing he used to do at Cornell a lot - with Ament gone and no real conductor, but a bunch of dudes who can shoot it and are skilled (Kelly, Willard, Foulds if he returns.)
