Re: Lehigh 2019
2019 brings a lot of expectations for Lehigh lacrosse. Pre-season ranking at #13. They have a tough February schedule with Hofstra, UVA and Cornell. They will find out quickly how good they are.

excited for this lehigh squad. schelling on attack if able to crack the starting line up is a solid player. hicks at LSM is a terror. great freshman group joining an already good team - look for them to challenge loyola.

Loyola is a solid program that seems to have Lehigh's number. Do you mean make the games closer? Win against them? Push for the PL title?Njlaxx11 wrote:look for them to challenge loyola.
I like Lehigh. They were close last season, but could just not seem to close the deal against a lot of top-flight teams. Sometimes that legacy is hard to shake. With all their returners, they seem like a sexy dark-horse pick this year. All eyes will be watching Bethlehem, PA to see if the results will be different. We should have a pretty good idea of where they stand, opening with UVA, Cornell and Rutgers!
Re: Lehigh 2019
Lehigh is getting a lot of love this year are they ready to step up!
How did they do in the scrimmage with St Joe's? Scorers, any new faces in the mix, how did the faceoff tandem work?
Did not get a chance to make it down to Phila.

What was the cause of the low score against Hofstra?
Re: Lehigh 2019
One of the worst games I’ve ever watched. Painfully boring. It was caveman lacrosse out there with really limited offensive players on both sides. Btw top Lehigh attackman Andrew Pettit did not play.
The weather was brutal and both teams are defense-first squads so it was probably inevitable that the game would be a mess. Lehigh had very high expectations this year. Hopefully they get Pettit back soon because they showed nothing on offense.

Re: Lehigh 2019
I was really looking forward to seeing how the shot clock would push the pace of the game.
Some teams got that message and the old run and gun was on full display but this game was hard to watch- not having Pettit there hurt and when Spence went down with an ankle turn I really couldn't watch it anymore.
I'm confident that much of this was due to playing outside in the second week of February- which I've never been a fan of- and I'm hopeful that this picture will change as the season warms up.

The Mountain Hawks should be able to score more than 3 against UVA’s d. Can Chick and company contain UVA’s offense if they begin to shoot accurately?
Re: Lehigh 2019
Watched a bit of the first half and all of the second of the Lehigh game against UVA.. IL mentioned seven players on the Hawks sidelines due to injuries. Undermanned Hawks fought gamely. Too bad Petit is out for the season and Lucas Spence didn't play which really set the Lehigh offense back. In addition clearing looked like almost as much of an issue perhaps affected by so much attrition. Craig Chick looks like the real deal; too bad so much has been lost around him. Schedule doesn't get any easier with Cornell up next.

Tough loss today. I put this on the coaches. How do you not put Craig Chick on Spencer from the first face-off!! By not doing that they allowed Loyola to stay away from Chick and take him out of the game.

100 % agree. Towson and Duke both out their top poles on him and drives him to assist and the other 5 to step it up.

Re: Lehigh 2019
Maybe not but maybe so. Both Towson and Duke won vs Loyola doing the same. Does your comment mean that Lehigh is not capable....Chick is surely capable.

When it went to OT it just felt like it was going Dutch. No disrespect to Kevin Cassese, his team, or anyone involved at Lehigh. Kevin is a LI legend, who will win an NC one day!

Re: Lehigh 2019
Tough loss for Lehigh against Bucknell. Team seems a little off since the Loyola game. The only two bright points of the game was Fitzpatrick with 6 points. He needs to do that more often. The other was Chick with 6 CT. Chick brings it every game and has had to deal with a lot of injuries around him. Win on Friday at Holy Cross and Lehigh locks up the #2 seed. The have the talent to get it done in the PL tournament. Need got pull things together.
Re: Lehigh 2019
Andrew Pettit will be returning to Lehigh for a fifth year. That's big for the Mountain Hawks who will be very young on the offensive end next season.
