Nothing Fluky about the NC tradition in the 80’to early 90’s. But several -500 years before & after 2016. They look the part, and lacrosse is better when UNC plays in late May. Q- is concerned about the defense etc. That will be tested in weeks to come. My little critique is the schedule which may come up later at the committee table. 7 teams on the schedule that are not top30. Look at the remaining schedule. 6 of 9 at home. 2 of the next three Furman & Dartmouth? Huh ! This is like a kicker who over compensates. Kick one wide, then he tries to hook the next one. UNC has been 500 for three years straight, 3-9 in conference. They seem to beef up the schedule in case they are in question of 500 or better at the seasons end. Now, you go to 2020. Will this scheduling cost them seeeding down the road w a potentially highly ranked team ? We shall see.

It's not 2018 or 2019 I don't see why it should have any bearing on how you rank/respect a team in 2020.
I doubt Breschi was planning on Denver and JHU not being as good as they have been in recent years. Bad luck. Makes the schedule look softer in hindsight than was initially planned. Breschi used to schedule tougher gauntlets of games in years past and ended up having injury issues come May. I don't have a problem with the schedule in 2020. Georgetown would be a very good win. I think they will do better in ACC play this year than the last couple of seasons.

Yeah Q was overly harsh on Heels this week... but let’s face it - probably the 1st time in decades, UNC is NOT OVERRATED...
UNC hailed top recruiting class, year over year... only to underachieve.
... Heels and Jays are mirror images of each other... products of early recruiting blunders - only difference - A gifted transfer.

Re: UNC 2020
The 2016 team was VERY overrated.
Nicky Solomon, Caton Johnson, Will Perry, Alex Trippi, Bill Bowen, Brian Cameron, Justin Anderson, Evan Egan, Jacob Kelly, Connor Maher... What a bunch of ER blunders. They'd be nothing without Gray!
Re: UNC 2020
Yes....it is ACC play that matters for all the ACC teams. At least it is not like last year when UNC went into the ACC games already with losses to Hopkins and Denver. I stopped tracking UNC at that point last year (and I am not Q).

Perry was recruited later. He was a Providence commit.

Man, you're right. They are all playing terribly and would in no way be starting on any other teams right now...

Re: UNC 2020
Opening with Colgate, Mercer & Lafayette makes the schedule look soft. Add in a the March trio of Furman, Bryant and Dartmouth and there's a half season of teams outside the Top 40 that the Heels back-ups would demolish.
The Ivy likely gets 3 bids (leaving a legit 4th on the bubble) so hard to see the ACC getting 4. UNC better hammer their ACC sched to be "safely in" come Selection Sun or that RPI is going to rear its head

Nice W. Why were Gray and starters in when the game was well within hand? Give the reserves some PT. It helps later in the season.

Fwiw didn't see game but how was this 4-3 at the half??? Even 9-6 going into Q4 seems odd. Esp w/ Tucci dominant on FOs in box scoreoldbartman wrote: ↑Fri Mar 06, 2020 8:08 pm Nice W. Re: UNC 2020
With UNC school admin restricting travel to and from states that have declared an emergency due to the Corona virus, what will happen to the Maryland and Syracuse games? Cancelling them would likely have an adverse effect on the rest of the season especially with regard to playoffs.

Neutral (uninfected) site?
Honestly the decision sounds patently absurd. Reactionary hysteria.

Furman’s defense was good, and their gk was a wall in the 1st half.

That hit on the Bryant player was without question a cheap shot!! What the hell is wrong with your coaches teaching that BS! On top of it when game started back up offensive player should have thrown it out of bounds No class !! Shameful and pathetic

Phew. Heels hold on to beat Bryant 18-16. Thought this one seemed like classic trap game territory. Tucci breaks program record for most faceoffs won in a game with 24. Seemed like we couldn't get many saves today - Johnson pulled at half for Pezulla, who didn't fare a whole lot better. Hope goaltending improves against Georgetown this weekend.

Anyone able to describe "what happened"? Rather lengthy delay on live stats (so long, actually thought was a weather delay). Hope all players are OK.It aint over yet wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 1:27 pm That hit on the Bryant player was without question a cheap shot!! What the hell is wrong with your coaches teaching that BS! Bryant was clearing the ball and a pass was made towards the midfield. The player receiving the ball had his head turned to catch the pass, and as he turned around, a UNC player hit him in the chest, knocking the Bryant player to the ground.NElaxtalent wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 3:07 pmAnyone able to describe "what happened"? Was the UNC player looking to injure the Bryant player? Absolutely not. I'm sure that the UNC coaching staff and players are more than concerned about his well being. If you know anything, please let us know.
