3-1. Three and One. Same record at same time last year, when we had Spencer and Stover. How are we doing now?!

Some of you boys need to chill with the debbie-downer doomsday gloomsday when the game starts. Sheesh. It's hard to get your rhythm the second the whistle blows. Let the game develop before weighing in.

I may have been premature saying Raba would excel last night, but let the record show Raba did in fact score! Also, let's hear it for Evan James!!!! And Joey Kamish!! And Savio!!!! And Lindley!! And our entire defense including goalie!

What an excellent win. If not for the lights-out play of Towson's goalie, this game would have been 25-6. Wondering what QK says about us now... We have so many assets on offense, almost all interchangeable; if one kid goes down, we really don't miss a beat. Try saying that about most other D1 programs.

This team is built to go strong for at least the next 5 years. Youth is everywhere, with the proper number of senior leaders. That all adds up to an infectiously fun sideline atmosphere for anyone not in the game.

Get your tickets now...Loyola will be (if it's not already) Baltimore's team! Charlie is recruiting the right kind of kids.

On to Lafayette!!!! Gonna be cold, boys.

There were a lot of pros and some cons to yesterdays games. Really liked the defensive stands against Towson. Its a rebuilding year for them as well but we got some nice defensive stops. RIP to the 0 man-down goals allowed but eh its w/e.

Save of the night for me was sometime in the 4th quarter where one of the towson attackmen got himself free, had time room to shoot and Shafer caught the rocket absolutely clean.

I'm glad Toomey went deep into his bench for the last 6-7 minutes of the game. Really gave some minutes to the new freshmen and sophomores.

I'll finish my write up in a bit

Almost identical score to JHU victory over Towson. Have now watched Towson three times this year and a larger drop-off in play than expected for a program that is perennially competitive and coached well. If there were a state's peking order, right now it seem to be Maryland or Loyola, JHU, Navy UMBC. MtSt Marys, Towson.

Leads me to this question, any reason why Maryland and Loyola dont play each other during regular season ? Know each have a good schedule but seems like a natural that lax fans would want to see.

They played in 2013 after the championship run. Maybe it's scheduling problems? I know in 2015, Loyola scheduled to play Maryland since the Hounds couldn't find a date to play Hopkins that season due to the BIG 10 games

Can't change your schedule mid-season.

Still, as Army has shown us, teams can lose to anyone at any time.

Just win baby.

Lots of positives from this one though:

No midweek funk. No letdown against an inferior opponent.

The shooting is improving.

Kamish seems to be coming into his own on attack.

Schafer still at "wall" status.

Defense played as a solid unit and was stingy.

Savio was dominant, and lots of others got to play includling future stars like Pacheco and Titelbaum.

On to the next!

Really...It was a two goal game with 20 minutes left to play. Loyola scores the next goal to make it 8-5 with a minute left in Q3.

Tigers could have been going in to the 4th, down one.

3 make-it/take-it goals were the result of the 2 min n.r. conduct penalty.

QK will not give up, will he?!?

I'm looking at the stat sheet and...for some reason I don't see the tight game that foreverlax, or QK, want to sell you. That was the tightest 15-6 game in history!

The only thing that'll stop my hounds now is Corona.

Let's get at in Easton this weekend, boys!!!! No letup! Keep improving! Everyone gets a crack at the starting role! Let's go!!!

Not sure what your point is. Lacrosse games are 60 minutes long, not 40 minutes. Loyola won by 9.

I’m a Tow- guy. The new goalie Shaefer*. is very good takes up space, plays angles. Honestly KL has too much of a green light. You have enough talent to spread it out. He is small, shot is solid( nothing earth shattering ). Charlie & staff does a great job. MCV offense could do more on GLE. It’s too much top & bottom. I just watched Cornell - the Offense could be top3 in the country. Army/ Loy for the Conference title. The stadium & the team etc is impressive. Long way from Curley field ! BOL

'Cuse needs more passionate fans obviously.

Also, because we borrow a lot of talent from upstate NY, I'll never criticize 'Cuse, other than good-natured ribbing. Plus I like that golf resort up there, Turning Stone.

Let's go Hounds!!!! On to Lafayette. Gonna be chilly...bring the hand warmers.

To say that Loyola played well is an understatement. Played good enough to win. And Towson was that bad and they did not play two of their starters.

This obsession with some of these middies is getting a little old. Swindell poitras (who did not play well) and wigley. Are your best so far. The others have shown some success but struggle putting the ball in the back of the net, but they do a good job wit turnovers and playing catch with the goalies. Deveraux Cox Bateman Hueston are non existent when it comes to helping Olmstead and lindley.

I will say that kamish is getting better. A nice snipe by raba. And a great feed by Pridemore that could not be handled by the middie ( I could not make out the number)

They should put 20 on the board vs Lafayette. The real test will be duke

How are you a Loyola fan?! 'The middies suck' but also 'we should drop 20 on Lafayette'. Your post is drop-dead serious, debbie downerish, and conflicted. Penn State, which seems to have a fairly good offense, put up 16 on Lafayette and only won by 7. If we suck so bad, how are we supposed to put up 20?!

Relax, man. Try to enjoy the season. Have a little levity. Have some nuance.

The boys are good and getting better. We lost 60% of our offense from last year. We are Three and One. The sideline is electric. Loyola is enjoying lacrosse the way it should be enjoyed. This team is fun to watch grow, not necessarily win the Natty. We are also kinda young. Our fans are the best looking in the country.

This team lost a ton of firepower from last year...

Not sure what some people expected, but 3-1 after the first 4 games on the schedule is solid (don't care about other teams records or struggles...that's irrelevant to what this team can control). 3-1 after playing two B1G teams, an ACC power and defending champ, and a city rival that pounded us last year...Those are 4 tough games and don't apologize for winning 3.

This team should and will rely on a strong defense and solid goaltending all year...and a stud in Savio...so we have a very solid back end...

Offensively this team will and should rely on 19,7, and 13 as leaders on that end...those guys are the stars, they own a heavy part of the load...that's how it works...and I trust all three to do as much

As far as the freshman on offense...some people on this board come across as clueless...I'm pretty confident that Coach VanArsdale is playing the best players...as a matter of fact, you can pretty much bank on it. Freshman are gonna make a mistake here and there...this board seems to forget that...which is comical.

Is this team perfect...Nope. But it will be fun to watch them develop!

Beat Lafayette! Go Hounds!

That's a fact and an inarguable point.
