Early season observations:
Richmond- loaded all around, rolled against 3 weaker opponents, first test upcoming vs. Virginia
UMass- dominated BC in upset victory, struggled with Dartmouth, likely 5-1 in non-conference play
St. Joe's- 2-2, reloading this year, hung in with Georgetown and Navy, always plays tough
St. Bonnie's- best start in years, (2-0 so undefeated!!), prediction: 6-2 before A10 begins
...more to come...

I like Richmond, and think UVA is going to have to lay very well to get past them.A10WLaxFan wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 7:05 am Early season observations:

I like the future of Richmond as well, but too soon for this group and too early in Season. Think UVA rolls in this one.seacoaster wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 7:11 amI like Richmond, and think UVA is going to have to lay very well to get past them.A10WLaxFan wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 7:05 am Early season observations:

Stunner in Charlottesville ... Richmond Spiders upset #6 UVA 13-12 in double OT. This new Freshman class making an immediate impact. This is the Spiders first win vs a ranked team since 2012.
Re: 2020 A10 Conference
When did the Spiders last beat UVA?
Re: 2020 A10 Conference

Loving the parity this year. 2 huge wins for the A10... UMASS over BC and now this.
Re: 2020 A10 Conference
Well, given the state of BC, not so big for UMass. But this game was indeed huge. Congratulations!SPIDERLAXFAN wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 7:41 pm Loving the parity this year. 2 huge wins for the A10... UMASS over BC and now this.

One of the most nerve racking games I have ever watched. Very happy for this extremely young UR Spider team!
Re: 2020 A10 Conference
This team looks good. Enjoy it. Looks like another NCAA appearance is in the cards....just dont play that Patriot League team again, I think there might be a much closer gameSPIDERLAXFAN wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 7:49 pm One of the most nerve racking games I have ever watched. The UMass-Richmond game is likely to be a pretty good game. Does the regular season winner of the conference host the conference championship? Or does it just cycle around to a different venue each year?SPIDERLAXFAN wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 7:41 pm Loving the parity this year. 2 huge wins for the A10... UMASS over BC and now this.

Tournament is in Virginia this year. Whether that’s because Richmond won last year, I don’t know.seacoaster wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 1:52 pmThe UMass-Richmond game is likely to be a pretty good game. Re: 2020 A10 Conference
I like Richmond and respect what they are doing down there. They are a legit top 15 program and could make a nice run in postseason play.
However, their Achilles Heel is Gianforte, the goalie. She has ability, but her style of play is inconsistent. She's an "athletic goalie" and she will make some spectacular plays. However, I have seen her get scored on because she went for spectacular when fundamentals was the right call. 'Fast Hands' have become a bad substitute for "lead with the stick and step to the ball". Doing the athletic thing can work in spots, but there is no substitute for solid technique, Basics, Fundamentals and knowledge. If Gianforte finds a way to combine those things and athleticism, Richmond will be a really tough team to beat.

Re: 2020 A10 Conference
She got beat on an open goal yesterday by being active outside the circle...Cant remember the specifics, but leaving the crease can cost you and in a game that ultimately went to OT, goal #6 or whatever could be the deciding goal between winning outright and having OT.LarryGamLax wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 2:40 pm I like Richmond and respect what they are doing down there. She only made 3 saves in the entire game. That will not get them a W in postseason.

The A10 and Patriot league still have the green light for now. Richmond’s gams vs Villanova is still a go for Saturday, but may only be attended by parents or guardians...No siblings allowed.

Transitional time for D! Women's Lacrosse in the DC area.
Previously, AU had it's troubles, and is still working with an interim head coach.
Today, Mason has a posting on the NCAA job website for their head coaching job.
