Nothing on Lasalla playing w a soft crab net?
Re: VIRGINIA LACROSSE 2020
Nolting scores on that last shot, this could have been a very different outcome.

Re: VIRGINIA LACROSSE 2020
Poor decisions down the stretch costs HPU a chance to win. At least three TOs in last 4 possessions. Good game. UVA responded to a gut check.

Re: VIRGINIA LACROSSE 2020
I thought HIgh Point's freshman goalie, Parker Green, played really well. With the score tied 15-15, his decision to come out and defend behind the goal - allowing Laviano to catch a pass for an empty netter, seemed rather poor.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 9:01 pm Poor decisions down the stretch costs HPU a chance to win. Yes. That was a killer as well. 3 TO's in your last 4 settled possessions is a killer.Cooter wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 9:15 pmI thought HIgh Point's freshman goalie, Parker Green, played really well. Re: VIRGINIA LACROSSE 2020
stats guys actually had it 11-8 uva on fo @ half.
high point lost their fogo and went with a pole in the 2nd half
then it was 14 to 2 in the 2nd, for 25 to 10 overall.
pole would let uva's fogo win, and then rag/strip. lasalla and schwenk combined for 5 to's, and it seemed like more for the group.
torpey also decided to pull a stick check on the fogo (illegal), high point got a goal out of it.
all in all, faceoffs ended up pretty even if you're not just counting who gets the first gb. high point played it hard and smart.

Right wgdsr. Despite his interesting FO theory, DMac posted the question tongue-in-cheek I believe...I was just playing along.wgdsr wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 1:00 amstats guys actually had it 11-8 uva on fo @ half.

Great game by two very talented teams.

Re: VIRGINIA LACROSSE 2020
Actually, tech, it wasn't tongue-in-cheek. I forgot about the game (wish people would do game threads like we used to), was flipping through the channels and saw it was on so I tuned in, it was early in the third period. HP was making a run and the game was getting mighty tight but they hadn't won one (not exaggerating) face off and were sending a pole out pretty much conceding the face off. I didn't realize you were just BSing, cuz it wasn't hard to imagine that they hadn't won one based on what I was seeing. What's interesting is that Va sure as hell wasn't scoring on their face off wins possessions either, they didn't really mean jack as the ball would go up and down the field a couple of times before they'd score, face offs played no part in many/most of their goals. You mention winning the face off but losing the ball a couple seconds later, wgdsr, and that's another thing that muddies the water in the face offs wins games theory. Face off stats and their relevance to winning are very deceiving, IMO. Based on the second half FO stats, Va should have blown HP out and just run away with the game but that sure as hell didn't happen. Same thing in the Cuse-Army game, Army shouldn't have even been the game as Cuse went 16 of 19 on faces offs but only won by 2. So as to give the wlaxers equal time, in Cuse's Monday night game v Gate, Gate won the draw battle 14-11 but Cuse won the game 21-4. A couple of good examples of why I think face off wins is highly over rated.

You think Syracuse still wins that game if they went 3 of 19 on faceoffs?DMac wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 7:56 am Actually, tech, it wasn't tongue-in-cheek. Re: VIRGINIA LACROSSE 2020
syracuse beat army because they won faceoffs.
that's one game in the faceoff column.
same for loyola-rutgers.
