2019 FanLax Draft Order
Also, the plan is to start the draft on October 1st, a Monday, for the 2019 season. One pick a day until the end of January.
2019 Fantasy Lacrosse Draft
Draft Order
Just so everyone is clear I raised this point to Matt early in the season:
I noticed while watching the NFL draft that the team with the worst record picks first in each round. I'm wondering how people feel about this as an alternative to the current system, where the previous year's winner gets 2 picks in the top 20 and so on.
Obviously when I mentioned this to Matt I didn't anticipate coming in last place, so if instituted this idea could be shelved 'til the following season. By the way, I've always placed 8 or 9 since I started as a coach, so this year was disastrous and I don't believe I'll be picking first again next year.
So that being said, I'd like to hear what people think.

Re: Draft Order
When i first started in this league, the best teams got the best draft picks and the team I inherited was crap. There was a fogo on the team. I built the team up through the draft without having a high draft pick. I've gotten guys like Kevin Rice, Nikko Pontrello and Jules Heningburg after the first round.
Matt has always maintained that he has tried to make fantasy lacrosse as realistic as he can. Giving the worst teams the best picks in each round is not realistic. I would actually prefer a more random draft order.
You have 2 guys from UMBC on your team. Their whole team averages under 7 goals per game. I'm not trying to be mean, but you can draft better.
Charalambides was a tough hit for you. The first year you knew he was injured but you can't plan for 2 years in a row.
Edit:
Don't get me wrong. I've made plenty of mistakes in the draft, but I'd like to think that I make fewer every year.

Re: Draft Order
The best teams picking first (which is very realistic to D1 Lacrosse) was killed years back. Personally, I liked that. But i was out voted and... I'm open to random.ohmilax34 wrote:tried to make fantasy lacrosse as realistic as he can. Giving the worst teams the best picks in each round is not realistic. Are we starting the draft October 1?

Can't wait for the draft! Making a living on the "late" draft picks these days....
2019 Fantasy Lacrosse Draft
The draft will be within this thread. This is the draft order.
New Coaches
The two new coaches get the first 2 picks. Each of the two new coaches get their First Round picks as well as a supplementary pick. Their first pick is a supplementary pick and it needs to be a non-freshman with single digit points last season. Their 2nd pick can be anyone.

Re: 2019 Fantasy Lacrosse Draft
Newbie question. For my first pick, do I just make a post here saying who I'm picking?
And can I make my supplemental pick and my first round pick at the same time?

Re: 2019 Fantasy Lacrosse Draft
Does the supplemental pick have to be single digits in POINTS, or just GOALS?
Re: 2019 Fantasy Lacrosse Draft
hi wantwantmore,
Single digit points not goals for sure, as goals and assist count equal, an assist machine is just as deadly as a goalscorer in this league.
Yes you will place you pick here, a pick looks like this:
"For my draft pick i select, Austin French Sr A Denver"
So name, position, team and year... makes it easier for the admin to post teams etc if all this is correct.
And i think it will be fine to pick your supplemental and first normal pick at the same time but admin/matt will have to confirm this in case they want the supplement pick before the draft.
Hope this helps
Nate

Re: 2019 Fantasy Lacrosse Draft
Anybody know where I can get a list that shows me players that are still draft eligible and their 2018 total points? I have that list for goals, but that doesn't help for this supplemental pick.

Re: 2019 Fantasy Lacrosse Draft
The number next to each player on this list is goals, not points, right?ohmilax34 wrote:http://lummys.com/fanlax/2018/02/21/201 ... g-scorers/
Re: 2019 Fantasy Lacrosse Draft
No, it's their fantasy points, which is goals and assists for the games that count for fantasy. It is not their full season stats.WeWantMoreLax wrote:The number next to each player on this list is goals, not points, right?ohmilax34 wrote:http://lummys.com/fanlax/2018/02/21/201 ... g-scorers/

Thanks, ohmilax34. Would not have guessed that. Now I'm ready for my picks.ohmilax34 wrote:No, it's their fantasy points, which is goals and assists for the games that count for fantasy. WeWant takes his two and then I pick or does it not matter? I was thinking he would take his supplemental pick and his number 1. Then I would take my picks?admin wrote:WeWant (and then Typical), feel free to make your supplementary pick.
