Dartmouth Women

Post by MDlaxfan76 »

Excited to see how new coach Alex Frank and the Big Green do this year!

HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women's lacrosse schedule for the 2020 regular season has been announced by head coach Alex Frank.

In her first season at the helm of the Big Green, Frank will lead her team in 15 regular season games from February through the end of April.

The team will begin on the road at UMass on February 15, matching the earliest start to a season in program history with last year's game at Northwestern. The Green will kick off the home portion of the schedule on Saturday, Feb. 22 when they host Boston University.

In total, Dartmouth will host six games at Scully-Fahey Field in 2020, while heading out on the road for eight contests. Of those six home games, three will be against Ivy League teams with the first coming on Mar. 21 when Columbia comes to town. Penn (April 11) and Yale (April 25) mark the other two league home tilts this spring.

After the home opener against the Terriers, the Green and White will welcome national power Florida (Mar. 3) and regional rival New Hampshire (Mar. 7) to Hanover in the next two contests in the Upper Valley.

In addition to a four-game slate of Ivies on the road, starting with Brown (Feb. 29), Dartmouth also has tough tests at Albany (Mar. 15), Boston College (Mar. 18) and Jacksonville (Mar. 24) during the course of the season.

Additionally, the Big Green will take on Army West Point in a neutral-site game to be played at Deerfield Academy on April 1.

Alex Frank was a great hire and will build on what Spencer started. I think they will continue to get better. I am pretty sure they graduated the main draw specialist and that will hurt but I think they have a good nucleus and great coaching.

Agree on Frank. Seems like an excellent match.

Not sure it is accurate to say "what Spencer started". She was playing from Patton's deck ... specifically the 2019 and 2020 classes.

I was referring to the change in culture and style of play, but you make a fair point.

Danielle Spencer turned the program around with the same players - that is skill and that is why she was voted Ivy League Coach of the YEar twice in 3 years. Please give a little bit of credit to the coach.

Well said! Can already see the difference in the way Stanford played in the Fall as well. No disrespect to former Coach but Spencer is a really good.

Dartmouth 15 UMass 11

Nice win for Big Green today. Going into Amherst and taking down ranked UMass at home. Looking forward to seeing them later on this season when they come to BC. Won't surprise me if Dartmouth takes it.

I know, right? That's how the RPI and other data are calculated. Remember last year when a few of us were questioning how FanLax rated Army 18th or something?

Dartmouth Women’s Lacrosse

Post by rafterjack »

 Exceedingly happy, Seacoaster ... all. First game for coach (Alexandria) Frank. Was nervous. Danielle gave us sooo much. Mostly couldn’t watch. Kept being behind then catch up. Yikes. Took control in the second half winning there 15-11. This after an historic victory by UMass in their previous game over fifth ranked BC. Oh, Wahoo Wahoo! Go Green Go.

Congratulations Rafter. Yeah, it appears that they are in good hands with Alex Frank. I am hopeful that this caused paroxysms of liquor consumption among Green fans. Good game coming up in Hanover on 2/22/2020.

Not sure - but I live in CT could feel the new energy she created there even here ... Whoosh. I came to believe it was so infectious it was taking over the entire athletic department and soon even spreading campus wide ... hm. And, yes, ‘Patton’s deck’ but for me there-was-no-denying that because of Spencer, Dartmouth was truly ... back in town again.

Big Green comes to Newton, Mass on Wednesday March 18th to take on BC. Having lost the last four to the Eagles, I'm fairly certain they get their revenge this year.
