This! More Murphy less Baskin.

Winning national championships, final fours, the b1g, should be the top priorities of this program but dominating charles street should be a given for this program. We've seen these kinds of games on repeat since my sr year in 2006. Mabett/Stagnitta between them have close to 30 games of d1 lacrosse and 5 goals. That's 2/3 of our current second midfield.

Great to see Forry putting some in the back of the net. I think Zinn had 3 points today, which is huge, but his shooting is looking a bit too much like late era Ranagan. Like Ranagan, Zinn will definitely be the real deal when his pro career comes along, I just hope we get some of that while he's in a Hopkins uni. The rows in the box score are gonna be short, not a lot of contributors.

Loyola looked emotionally the same as last week, but more crisp and measured. Early on, it didn't look like they would find a way to get inside or underneath (same struggle against Cavs) but once Lindley crack it, things started to open up.

Gotta love the Mount winning today. Big one for those guys!

Shame on this coaching staff!
With that injury, you can’t always tell how far off the player is until he gets out there and plays.
what is the injury?

Sprained MCL. I am assuming a sprain versus what would be a real tear. I was thinking it was an LCL but the announcers said it was an MCL on the air today. Could be the 6 week variety.

That is tremendously unfair to Mabett. Bob Benson has given that kid about 5 runs in his career and that may be on the high side.

It's a little weird to call out the 2nd midfield when 2/3 of the starting attack did absolutely nothing. Let's start there.

I am jumping over to the hopkins page to give you guys my opinion of hopkins.

Playing Epstein a huge mistake, looked like a hs player... could not move, turnovers, that was a coaching mistake

FO was handled by Savio.

GK, played well.

Middies, Zinn did not live up to the hype, he looked overwhelmed. Your middies overall are average.

EMO has alot to work on, 2 man up and you do not score.

You have alot to work on with your upcoming schedule... maybe 500 again this year

Did you not see that the young man had ZERO ability to move laterally ? He was not even close to ready to play in a game. Hope it has no long term damage. POOR coaching decision. Selfish.

Poor training decision is more likely. Coaches can't clear players..... well, in most places.

Trainers cleared Epstein to play. Being cleared to play does not mean “play well.” It just means the knee is stable enough to handle the rigors of the sport.
Epstein practiced all week.
Petro made the decision to play him after watching him practice all week.

If we had a real Prez, he would have replaced this staff long ago.

This is nonsense. While I think no one can argue that a goalie that saves 43% over the course of the season played really well - Darby and Petro's failure to change goalies hardly "cost" them the season.

I thought Rome was "burning"?
It is.
Darby is one of, like, two Blue Jays who played ok today
But he was way way outplayed by his counterpart for Loyola, who is also a Junior.

Thanks for your comments. I told everyone here that the Jays are rarely competitive at Ridley, everyone scoffed at me, but again they got blown off the field yesterday, so now they've lost three in a row to Loyola. Loyola is well coached and they have energy and they want to win and play like it. Hop program is in serious decline. IF they lose to UNC and SU they are in trouble heading into the BIG schedule. 7-6 and they will miss the playoffs. Epstein should stay out of the lineup until he's recovered like in a month or so. I see so many guys play for Hopkins with knee braces over the years and it's hard for them to do anything like that. Other teams have injuries too. Loyola had a lot of injuries but they don't seem to miss a beat. They are still competitive. Another .500 season and maybe we get some changes. Finally.

The HC is a lame duck! His coaching choices and style are on the decline for the current d-1 environment. The HC’s theme for the players this season is accountability, but I think the coach bears some accountability for the failures of yesterday, last season etc. He refuses to make necessary in game player adjustments that other D-1 coaches would easily make. His style of play is stale and uninspired. I feel bad for the athletes on this team who have to deal with him this season. I hope the administration has enough respect for the program and the athletes and replaces the HC.

I think that’s a fair question. Williams needs to be a lot more assertive with his skill set especially with Epstein out
