Johns Hopkins 2020
Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
Rutgers killed by Army; Michigan beaten by Hofstra; Ohio State lost to UMASS; Maryland squeaks by Penn in shootout; Penn State won easily. 3 BIG loses so far today.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
The Jays had trouble breaking down the Towson zone, and the Loyola zone seemed pretty effective against UVA.
Edit: so much for my coaching ... Loyola is playing M2M.

Epstein announced in the starting lineup but we'll see how much he actually plays

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
He is not 100%. He lost the ball, and really was not able to charge into the loose ball battle.

Good for the hounds. Epstein is doing a lot of standing around at X and turning it over.

He got stripped again, then threw it away. I admire his grit, and I am sure he is saying, "Coach, I can play", but it does not look that way.

Epstein out to start the second Q...
Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
I heard from a reliable source mid week he was not going to play, not ready to go. Surprised they put him out there at all. The mid week report was obviously accurate.

Yeah. If this weren’t my team, I would have turned this off long ago. We’re getting beaten in basically every phase. Almost no positives on the takeaway list this week. Degnon might be the brightest spot to me, but that’s not exactly high praise given how bad most everything has been.
If this team doesn’t figure it out really quickly, even a repeat of the results of last year looks optimistic.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
Guess we should blame this one on Ron Daniels too
Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
Can anyone think of the last season where Hopkins lacrosse wasn't in disarray before March? They can't win face-offs...LSM treat ground balls as if they're live ordinance...can't beat an opponent 1-on-1...I just feel like I've seen this movie for the last ten years.

Different players, same coach.ptjhu wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 5:21 pmCan anyone think of the last season where Hopkins lacrosse wasn't in disarray before March? Hopkins has rarely matched up well individually against Loyola in the past decade. I think Loyola has won 7 of the last 8 against the Jays.

While I think no one can argue that a goalie that saves 43% over the course of the season played really well - Darby and Petro's failure to change goalies hardly "cost" them the season.Sagittarius A* wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 8:34 am I hope the coaching staff has a quick hook this year, because last year they had a slow hook and it pretty much cost them the season.
I thought Rome was "burning"?
Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
0 goals, 0 assists, 0 GBs, 0 CT, 0 faceoff wins for Ron Daniels. Simply an inexcusable performance out of him. He has to be better. Can't win like that

Darby is one of, like, two Blue Jays who played ok todaySagittarius A* wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 5:39 pmIt is.51percentcorn wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 10:10 amThis is nonsense.
