I don't know but I can guess that her knee is still not feeling game ready.

NU by 2. Maryland by 1 or 2. Hounds by 4.
I actually wish that NU and Notre Dame were playing later in the year, when each was a bit more battle tested, and most importantly, this game could be played outside as Nature's God intended. I am assuming it will be in some "fine for practice," dreadful for a game Fieldhouse. Why not play all these early February games at the Dome, so DMac could report with expensive Dome Foam and Mrs. Sitthef*ckdownalready?

Actually, the new Ryan Fieldhouse is not too shabby!

It's not too shabby, but it can't hold a candle to outdoors in Martin Stadium on the shores of Lake Michigan. Plus the broadcast production suffers indoors. I'm with seacoaster on this.ILLaxParent wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 3:11 pm Actually, the new Ryan Fieldhouse is not too shabby!

Understood; I am not against Fieldhouses -- not part of my platform. I just prefer games played outside where I can't hear the great hollow sound of the rafters with every whistle and yell.ILLaxParent wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 3:11 pm Actually, the new Ryan Fieldhouse is not too shabby!

laxorangebookworm's postgame observations on NU vs ND 2/14
I think Northwestern, by design, plays very aggressively (they have for a long time) and they're constantly attacking. As we saw in this game, it can lead to some sloppiness, but I also believe that it leads to them getting a ton of ground balls. They're absolutely relentless, but they can overcommit and that's what happened tonight.
They've got SU and UNC coming up in the next few weeks, so it'll be interesting to see how they go. As a Syracuse fan, there's still a big question mark regarding the Northwestern game next weekend given how poorly they played against Stony Brook. That Wildcat intensity will eat the Orange alive if the offense goes into snooze mode for 30 minutes like they did Monday night. I still think NU will wind up being a top 5 team by the end of the regular season and it'll be an interesting contest with Maryland later on. Northwestern definitely has a strong offense, which will be their key throughout the year, but the backline will falter against better opponents. Weisse shored up some of the defensive issues for the Wildcats later in the regular season last year in goal. Krupnick and Doucette will probably battle it out over the next couple of weeks, but I suspect that the latter will start to get the lions share of the playing time by the end of the season.
I'm impressed with Notre Dame. Like you said, they did show poise, although I think they buckled under the Wildcat pressure at times. But they have a good defense, Deehan looked strong in goal and their offense is very balanced and probably comparable to Northwestern. How they were picked to be 7th in the country preseason is beyond me (should have been in the top five easily).

Interesting assessment of NU's team tendencies. It will indeed be interesting to see how NU fares against the top teams in the coming weeks, and Maryland near the end of March, and most probably again at the beginning of May, and who knows, maybe at the end of May as well.

BIG 10 Network Releases TV Schedule
Some good games here. No apparent mismatches. The ACC Network could learn something from this lineup.
