Looking forward to 2020
Re: Looking forward to 2020
Laxguy, appreciate your insight and agree with top 5 but am curious to see how the season unfolds. In years past, it seems like SU and NU can’t seem to get over the hump and win it all, maybe this is the year? SU is the most innovative team and fun to watch on offense, however as you and dr both pointed out cross checks are fouls and hard cross checks are yellow cards. The refs have to establish control with SU from game 1 or they will push the envelope on hard fouls. That is one aspect of the game that has to change and will change in time...as everyone hopefully understands, you don’t have to get hit in the head for a concussion but can also get concussed by the whiplash motion and hard checks do just that.
Re: Looking forward to 2020
This has been a observation of mine regarding SU's defense for quite some time. It always seems to me they play excellent defense for quite long stretches only to bail out a team and put them on the line after an aggressive foul. More than a few times last year I saw this as the shot clock was close to expiring. I can only think they would be even more dangerous if they can clean that up. They certainly are fun to watch on offense however.8meterPA wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2020 8:16 am Laxguy, appreciate your insight and agree with top 5 but am curious to see how the season unfolds. 1 month away, girls and boys!
Looking forward to see how many games are scheduled for telecast/streaming in February.
Re: 1 month away, girls and boys!
Between the start of the ACC network, the BIG10, Ivy, PAC-12, and others, most will be streamed. However, most of these require subscriptions. A few will allow access through websites, but that will be the challenge. I tend to subscribe to BIG10 and ACC/ESPN for 4 months and watch whatever else is free. PAC-12 is hard on the East coast.
Re: 1 month away, girls and boys!
Some teams also list on their online schedule which games are televised/streamed, even in the case where the school has their own coverage. Then you just have to hope that the broadcast team is experienced—especially the person responsible for the camerawork. I find that an inexperienced camera person can make the broadcast unwatchable pretty quickly.LaxGuy17 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 6:50 amBetween the start of the ACC network, the BIG10, Ivy, PAC-12, and others, most will be streamed. A lot of the Pac-12 games were poor quality. Esp USC games - and they are a film school.
Re: 1 month away, girls and boys!
Agree on PAC12, hard to find and really poor production. The ACC and Big10 telecasts are real broadcasts with real announcers as opposed to unprepared students and shaky cameras from a mile away. From what I am hearing, several ACC women's game dates have been moved to accommodate additional ACC telecasts. All good for the Women's game!Lax247 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 12:17 pmLaxGuy17 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 6:50 amBetween the start of the ACC network, the BIG10, Ivy, PAC-12, and others, most will be streamed. North Carolina Tar Heels release 2020 schedule
They have sprinkled in some gimme games but overall it’s a tough schedule for one of the two teams that will have a bullseye on them each and every game this season.
