They have home field advantage on the issues under contention.
Sigh. You're right. Might make things worse.

When I get frustrated, I have to remember my adage: "there's no such thing as a "right move" in the Middle East for American Presidents".

...ask again when they retake Mosul. Then we'll know it's not just the JV.

Turkey (finally) agrees to establish a safe zone in NE Syria, with joint US supervision.

Who cares. In three years we could have a modern day NUKE power plant built for every congressional district in the USA. Let them drink their oil, we'll eat our heads of wheat.
Why not just give the war monger money to the oil folks, about 1/3, that we are spending in the ME, for the next 7 years. After that, they are on their own. Brits control us tho.
oligarchy thanks you......same as it evah was

WE don't need their oil. The production coming out of West Texas has made the US one of the top oil producers in the world, and is crushing oil prices globally which has the Saudi's getting nervous.

The US production rate is about half of the US consumption rate. So unless you want to cut oil use in half, we DO need their oil ...

Production is where is it because of commodity prices and access to capital. It could be doubled in 6 months. Now how sustainable that production capacity is over 20 years - that is a completely different matter.

Further evidence of our Russophobia forcing us to do stupid things :
https://www.realcleardefense.com/articl ... d=22670555
how many residual forces are we going to have to leave behind in Afghanistan to maintain the 160 used, refurbished Blackhawk helos we forced on the Afghans to replace their Russian MI-17's, which they already know how to operate & maintain & can operate high & hot, where the Blackhawk can't.
Nice work War Hero Blumenthal. This stupid boondoggle didn't save the plant in Bridgeport.

Forgotten your own advice already, have we?

You just need to be patient, Mr. Instant Gratification. Afghanistan will work out just fine. You just have to wait and see.....

No need to wait. 'This has been years in the making. I've been squawking for a long time about the stupidity of how we're forcing the Afghan Air Force to try to use our stuff which is too complex for them to maintain & operate & ill suited for the operating conditions.

Wait for what ? Is the density altitude of Afghan terrain going to be reduced.

For it to all work out, man. You don't understand that these things take time, and you need to be patient. We'll survive just fine.

Criticizing things like this is just a symptom of our instant gratification culture.

Me? I'm not the one crying about some helicopters half way round the world.

So yep. Be patient with your whirlybirds, and quit crying about how Trump is handling them "wrong". It'll all work out, dude. Be patient.
