DMac wrote: Wed Oct 30, 2019 10:46 am The whole iron cross discussion is pretty ridiculous, IMO, just another twisted and sensationalized story. Young girl gets an iron cross tattoo and the media turns that into her being a Nazi and racist. Seriously doubt there's an iota of truth to that. Tattoos are hugely popular and she, like millions of others, got one that she thought was kind of cool. Nothing more to the story, folks.
Her sex life is another story the media can prey upon her with, a nice salacious and titillating story they can turn her into a little slut with. The girl has a sexual appetite and has had more than one partner, how sinful!!! Meanwhile, what kind of salacious little stories could we come up with if the sex lives of those destroying this gal were disclosed (as well as the stories of those condemning her)?
I don't know this girl from a hill of beans but she's being treated very unfairly here. Porn revenge is some low life BS but unfortunately the media sees it as a gold mine. The headlines are far more important to them than anyone's life. Feel bad for this gal (has nothing to do with politics, Ds or Rs).

The discussion is not about the presence of an iron cross tattoo, the discussion is how would Democrats react had this been on Nikki Haley's body (or any Republican for that matter). Do you think there would be a tar-and-feather outrage media mob excoriating this racist sexist bigoted Republican? Ya think!

Literally no one cares that Katie has an iron cross tattoo; what we care about is consistent outrage.

that's whataboutism and it's not welcome here

My bad.

Such a hypocrite Michelle Obama is. She said the reason whites aren't voting Democrat is because they are scared of black people ( little does she know a lot of blacks and Hispanics aren’t anymore either!). Interestingly, the Obamas live in the whitest section of Washington, just 3.8% black, and their other home is in Martha's Vineyard, 3.2% black. Why don't the Obamas want to live with other black people? What are they so scared of? And don't tell me the cops.

It's not my side.

And you're moving goalposts all over the place. Yep, there are crazy wankers all over the place on the left. What I took issue with is your taking the "fact" that someone, somewhere, said something-----and then acting like Warren said them. She didn't. You don't get to blame Warren over something that happened to that MAGA kid in DC. One has nothing to do with the other, no matter how hard FoxNation tries to convince you otherwise.

In this specific instance, I'm reacting to you lecturing us on hitting Trump for every little thing....and then turning around and doing just that: bringing up petty stupid stuff.

I've hit the Dems and the left for any number of things, including Rachel Maddow's utterly silly show. And I've said many times, the far left and the far right are the exact same thing. I can't stand either group, personally.

Actually you said I said that when what I actually wrote was Kira's post was about "Democrats", not Warren; I just didn't bother to correct the record. That being said. Warren is a pedantic woke putz who will drive the Party into obscurity. Her perma-pandering is symptomatic of one who has no core value other than to win, which she assuredly will not do.

I wish Obama would have gone further in his anti-woke speech by saying 'vote for Biden, he's the only hope out of this mess', but he didn't, which I do not understand.

Incorrect. I asked: you think Biden thinks that? You said nope, Warren. (i'm paraphrasing here). You were tying Kira's rant to the Dems running for POTUS. Kira was painting with a broad, hyperbolic, hysterical brush that has nothing to do with who's running.

Biden won't get the lefties to the booth. He's Hillary ver. 2.

I'm confused, PB, you just posted that you never watch Fox, rarely CNN, almost entirely just ESPN.

Yet somehow you know Maddow's show and highly familiar with Warren, listened/watched her a lot?
What, are you watching MSNBC?

You're getting this stuff from somewhere...maybe your Twitter or FB feed of clips??

the pertinent question for the dems is WHO WILL?

Bernie? maybe but they actively clipped his wings in some sort of self-flagellating loyalty test to HRC.

Kamala? - the dems rightly see her as the most "rightwing" candidate from either party. She is a lock 'em up candidate - that is not going to energize the dem voters.

Mayor Pete - maybe, but I think they over-estimate the potential for R outrage over a gay candidate - they for the most part wont care. The party operatives are also at risk of being way too complacent re the political affiliation of the gay community - particularly the men. Many in the entire LGB world are feeling like they have been co-opted.

So that effectively leaves Warren - and I will say again, she has all of the "charm" of HRC and is a far worse liar. She ain't going to get it done for the Dems.

Interestingly, I am beginning to think that the only way the dems win is if Tulsi goes independent. I think she would actually draw support away from TRUMP not the dem candidate.

Meanwhile, Hillary is sitting by the phone.

Warren is the polar opposite of Trump, so I think she would actually be successful in a general election run against him. Clear distinctions from Trump in policy, style, ideology, and (of course) gender. I’m a moderate-liberal, but even I believe that in 2020 the most essential element is to get your base out. That’s where Hillary went horribly wrong. She could have energized the base by choosing Warren as her VP (and Warren clearly wanted the job). Instead, she picked Kaine, a bland moderate like her.

I still support Kamala, but I could definitely support a Warren-Harris ticket with enthusiasm. I think a lot of other moderates would too.

I'm stuck! Have been for years now!

I'm going to have to pick----yet again---the lesser of two evils for POTUS, while not actually supporting either candidate.
