Here, let me help you: If R's were serious about fixing immigration? You better sit down....because this is SOOPER complicated.
You ready? They'd get to work, actually write an immigration reform bill, OS. They'd have it ready to go, ready for the Dems to debate in both Houses of Congress. And ready to go for this fall, when the R's take back both Houses of C.
The Republicans have done such a number on you and your fellow R voters, that you don't even know what the F real leadership, real problem solving, and real legislation looks like anymore. So they give you want you want: pointless political theatre, masquerading as legislation.
And you can't get enough of it.

Biden administration officials are now pressuring Mexico City to resettle migrants from Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela as the border crisis escalates and crossings soar to record highs. Interesting that they don't want migrants fleeing socialism/communism. They only want the migrants they think will help facilitate their own socialist fever dreams.

Re: Who is supporting the immigrant caravan?
Well the illegal immigration problem at the southern border has been going on for decades. The folks from BOTH parties could have solved the issue a long time ago. Why bother?? Illegal immigrants provide dirt cheap labor for Republicans and they provide a potential rich harvest of new voters for Democrats. Why upset the apple cart?? The same tactics never change. The subject of fixing the problem at the southern border makes for juicy political ads for both parties that run for office with the promise of fixing a problem they really don't want fixed in the first place.Seacoaster(1) wrote: ↑Sat Sep 17, 2022 7:52 amThe political theatre is also cruel to vulnerable people. Our late former congresswoman in upstate Louise Slaughter stated in her last re- election campaign that she wanted the peoples votes so she could return to Washington to fix what was broken, a well worn political cliche to say the least. Mrs Slaughter served 16 terms in Congress and never managed to fix anything. She did have that homey Kentucky twang in her voice that made her just adorable to her loyal constituents. Symbolism over substance will get you re-elected almost everytime. When you can't dazzle em with brilliance, baffle em with bullchit.

Yep. They had a great chance to put their money and actions to good use, I guess all those signs in lawns @ MV in favor of tolerance where just that...just cheapness on display; instead, they revealed themselves. Now that Title 42 was shutdown by Biden, maybe we need Title 43, where no immigrants shall be transported to liberal elitists zip codes.get it to x wrote: ↑Sat Sep 17, 2022 7:24 amBeing that it's the shoulder season, probably. .... Afan
To counter your SOOPER complicated rebuttal to OS, I believe an even simpler solution, that was already in play by those wascally-wabbit republicans, was to put control on the border flow by funneling them towards legal entry...you know, like entry to a new home. Even that simple novel idea was fraught with slander by the opposition.
Do you feel like the wall completion/expansion was just virtue signaling to Trumps base or an action to do something where a bi-partisan resolve was never going to happen. yea-yea....the rs had the majority for the first two years, we know that already. So why didn't they do something you are going to ask...hell team trump could barely figure out how to transition to office for the first 2-3 years {read "The Fifth Risk" }. And NO! I am not giving him a past, just adding nuance to your overly simplistic POV on why world peace was not solved in such short fashion. But hey...in the end both sides got what they truly wanted....money to spend, which is all the 'really' matters in DC.

They were taken to AFB Cape Cod in Bourne, on the mainland because it has better facilities than Vineyard Haven. Anyone with a brain and moral compass understands this. It is remarkable to me that you folks cannot just concede that using human beings as pawns and props in a political conflict is just cruel and disgraceful -- all for the purpose of "clever" tweets (Cruz: "Nantucket next?"). You just stick with your team, which appears to support a crude, cruel and vulgar world. It's endlessly sad.

There is no location in Florida experiencing what border communities in Texas are dealing with. So please explain, why you give the governor of that state a free pass on injecting himself into an issue that doesn't apply in his state...but feel free to also rationalize use of COVID government aid funds for a purpose for which it was not designed nor even credibly applicable.youthathletics wrote: ↑Sat Sep 17, 2022 10:04 am....and you can not see the irony that what has taken place at MV, even on such a small scale, is what is happening daily, magnified by 1000 in southern cities of the US. Another item - back in 2021 GOP Governor and administration used Laughlin Air Force Base to house migrants temporarily - don't recall you chiming in even in your normal snarky way about that. Bases in TX were also used back in 2018 when your people where in charge. Where you you then, too?
Of course, people with whom you disagree don't get it. That's what you always say and why trying to have a discussion with you on just about any issue is futile. Pot meet kettle.

It’s smart politics to show the world how racist white liberals are.
Q. Why can’t the richest place on the east coast handle 50 refugees?
A. White liberals are the worst people on earth.
