In fairness dairy margins are such that immigration wouldn’t stop the need for significant consolidation (or 15-20% higher end user/retail) prices in general. Had a number of long Vic redactions in Binghamton with the head dairy scientist for Crowley Foods who bartender at night while spending all the time I did in Binghamton for my mother two years ago. Learned a ton about that industry and was a shocked they were an $800mm revenue business and still struggling.
I’m for open borders in general but other AG like produce probably has a better economic argument for immigration because we know JimBob from Steuben Co NY or Kosciusko Ms don’t want to pick strawberries and get paid by the bushel.

Pretty moving stuff. Wouldn't it be nice if these Idaho farmers could show the rest of American farmers to kick the politicians that are in the way---both D's and R's----out of their way, and actually fix this 40 year old problem?

And yes, we SHOULD drive the immigration issue with financial interest. We're losing money so that Dems and R's have a stoopid fake campaign issue that they will NEVER address after they get elected.

The U.S. Coast Guard has stopped at sea over 3,000 Florida-bound Cuban migrants since October — more than the last five fiscal years combined, according to the agency, the Miami Herald reported earlier this month. More than 140,000 Cubans have been detained at U.S. borders between October and May, surpassing the Mariel exodus of 1980 when 125,000 Cubans departed from the Port of Mariel near Havana between April and October 1980.

Apologize if it’s been discussed elsewhere.
I am a strong proponent of immigrants coming to the US.
But I can’t imagine this is a great idea given the current world climate. Or if a similar situation would be looked positively upon in other countries.
And the president’s press secretary denies its happening?

Wrap you heads around this phrase: climate migrants.
You ain’t seen nothing yet. And who knows, we all may be said migrants soon.

I was vehemently against the childish game of not enforcing Federal laws.....BS sanctuary cities.
Fix the problem, and quit complaining.
Re: Who is supporting the immigrant caravan?
Prima facie evidence why politicians have no clue how to run a country that they'd resort to this BS in an pitiful attempt to "solve" a problem that they all have no intention of addressing.
Ron DeSantis literally used Florida taxpayer money to pay for a scheme to pick up migrants who were in Texas - that is, not even in Florida - and fly them to Massachusetts. How are Floridians possibly okay with that?
How about the rest of us? Are we OK with garbage like this?

Republicans are INSANE if they think their party is going to get rid of TrumpNation "governing". We're going to get more "stick it to the libs" from Republicans than ever before.

Since Biden took office (28 months), his administration has allowed in more than one million migrants, many of whom will wait months or years for hearings because of legal and procedural backlogs. More than a million migrants similarly detained at the border were similarly admitted to the country on a temporary basis over a 24 month stretch of the Trump administration, according to Migration Policy Institute.youthathletics wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 3:39 pm Sometimes you just have to punch someone in the belly to get their attention. This is a stunt before an election and not, in any way, an offer to jointly address the problem. Florida chartered two planes (with taxpayer funds), flew them to San Antonio TX to pick up migrants to fly them to Massachusetts, alerted Faux News but not authorities at destination or departure which might even be illegal. Garbage BS which I'd expect you to be honest about rather than making a bad joke.
Until Congress and Executive decide to even attempt to deal with the issues, the rest of us are left with the BS by our elected officials of BOTH parties who won't do their jobs.

Well, it was in the budget... And I am quite sure, the majoriy in Florida and Texas will be willing to spend even more next year. Maybe you can send Desantis your zipcode and your city can be the next stop.
Taryn Fenske, DeSantis' communications director, has confirmed that Florida legislator approved the use of $12 million to "transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations," in line with federal law, as reported by the Associated Press.
The information provided by Fenske is confirmed by the Freedom First budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 approved by DeSantis on June 2, a $109.9 billion state budget bill that included a program to transport immigrants out of the state.

IMHO not partisan at all. Common sense and cooperation on the part off our elected representatives
These politicians accepted THE SAME NUMBER OF MIGRANTS OVER A SIMILAR PERIOD WHEN THEIR GUY WAS IN CHARGE. They sent NONE anywhere.
Can we assume you'd feel the same way if they were sent to YOUR location instead of mine?
Not even an original idea - Tucker Carlson specifically suggested on air back in July to relocate migrants to MV.

DeSantis sent 50 migrants to Martha's Vineyard by plane as an anti-liberal stunt. The locals pulled together to help them.

Conversations with our pols, have gone no where, for decades....which is the point of what has taken place in this instance. Again, as my initial comment in our thread stated "Sometimes you just have to punch someone in the belly to get their attention". I am willing to bet, that something good will come from this, although not immediately, b/c it would then appear like this recent tactic worked.Kismet wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 4:56 pmI don't live in Massachusetts.
