What Music Are You Listening To ?

Post by Brooklyn »

Best of Bon Jovi

GREAT stuff! Several stations here in Lake Wobegone play their music every day and it never gets old.

I've been returning to the early 80's and listening to the Go-gos and the Pretenders. One of the things I have enjoyed recently is watching the live performances on youtube - something I didn't have available to me back in the 1980s before the information age.

I don't think the Go-gos got much airplay on the Rock statiions in DC because I wasn't that aware of them at the time, but I have found that I like them quite bit looking back. I like this concert from 1984:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0ZsGeNpePA
It occurs just before the Go-gos broke up, but after their 3rd album was released.

The Pretenders are sort of like who is playing with Chrissie Hynde, although they usually have the original drummer Martin Chambers with the band. You can watch the Pretenders with the original members (but not as many songs) from 1981;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HD2fodz-7c&t=3482s
but Chrissie is still singing well here in 2017 with some young guitarists who are pretty good:

Listening to the background music of "Somewhere In Time" as I watch the loving tribute to beautiful Maude Adams.

Saw Rickie Lee again Friday night... first time in many years. 40th year anniversary of her debut album. At 64, she is still amazing,
an inspiration for sure...
