In truth, I thought "Vincent" was his best song. Sung with much feeling and was a great story.

Lots of glitter in this presentation. Amazing to see all those white girls wearing 'fros.

Yes perfectly melancholy song. Though I’ve hear a number of live renditions (just YouTubing live songs which I live seeing the good off script versions of) it doesn’t seem to translate off the album as well. The lack of background sounds helps the orientation when listening I think.

Something very breezy, light and childlike in winter wood. Simple 60s hippy type song but it’s got a natural easiness to it-opposite of Vincent. Though I feel like MacLean should be sporting a mustache when he sings that song for some reason.

Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

for some reason I can't seem to remember that song but it sure is nice - smooth & mellow

Debbie Harry ❤️ and Blondie ~ she looks great for her age. As always, Clem Burke is a house afire at the drums ~ truly one of the best in the Rock era.

Friend asked me to give this group, Yelawolf, a shot. Listening to a few. I can't tell if their talented or good enough to stand out from generic opening acts. Don't hate it, catchy but not sure I love it.

Assume there's a few familiar with these cats and probably both like and dislike.

Anyway it appears this was a relative hit of theirs called Till its Gone...

Hackney Diamonds. Lady Gaga is something else. Paul’s bass is great. Muddy Waters cover is great. Mick sounds great for 80.
Who would expect this with all the Rock and Roll is dead sentiment out there. Radio djs need to do a better job with their music choices. I listen to wtmd and wxpn. tmd has gotten better with the rnr jocks but still plays some crappy music son is better, digs a little deeper. Still there is so much out there, you need to dig it up yourself. Hackney Diamonds hopefully will open up some eyes.

The Quarrymen sing "Dirty Maggie Mae":

Oh dirty Maggie Mae
they have taken her away
and she'll never walk down Lime Street
anymore
Well, the judge, he guilty found her
for robbing a homeward bounder
You dirty, no good robbin' Maggie Mae
So I was one unhappy fool
in the port of Liverpool
where three pound ten a week, that was
my pay
With a pocket full of tin, I was very
soon taken in
by a girl with the name of Maggie Mae
Now, the first time I saw Maggie
she took my breath away
She was cruising up and down in Canning Place
She had a figure so divine
her voice was so refine
Well, being a sailor, I gave chase
Now, in the morning that I woke
I was flat and stony broke
no jackets, trousers, waistcoats did I find
When I asked her where they were
she said "My very good Sir
they're down at Kelly's pawn shop number nine"
To the pawn shop I did go
no clothes there did I find
The police, they took that girl away
from me
And the judge, he guilty found her
For robbing a homeward bounder
and she'll never walk down Lime Street
anymore

Oh dirty Maggie Mae
they have taken her away
and she'll never walk down Lime Street anymore
Well, the judge, he guilty found her
for robbing a homeward bounder
You dirty, no good robbin' Maggie Mae

Would love to hear them sing in the local Scouser accent like they did as the Beatles a few years later on.

Was just watching/listening to a BBC production on the life of Yehudi Menuhin:

Great family films add much to this gem of a documentary. It did have a few flaws in that so little was said of his father and how his Jewish roots influenced his life and musical outlook. While the documentary does accurately reveal the great Gypsy influence in his music, I would have drawn parallels between that music and Jewish motifs as shown in his works. The presentation also gave too little attention to his youngest sister Yaltah and how he may have influenced her. Many examples of his great humanitarian work was shown though I would like to have seen more of his concert with Ravi Shankar. All my life I have had the greatest admiration for Maestro Menuhim.

Brilliant prodigy:

Fun video. Saw this band Franz Ferdinand open for my Pixies and they were quite good. Knew this one song but had never seen the video- reminds me of something my boy Rene Magritte would’ve painted.
