Going to Chicago (with the great Count Basie)

After the Lights Go Down Low

He

Unchained Melody

Trees

What Will I Tell My Heart

The Blues Come Falling Down

If I Knew You Were There

I Won't Tell A Soul I Love You

When his career went into decline, he became heavily involved in the civil rights movement. Many stations refused to play his songs. But our Friend Frank Sinatra stood up for him and they played his songs again.

J.J. Jackson - But, It's Alright

Great song that sounds as good today as ever. Those Soul Songs never get old. It has come to my attention that JJJ also sang it in Spanish but I've never been able to trace it.

Don’t know if anyone else is familiar with or into that British Invasion stuff (Byrds, Turtles, Paul Revere & Raiders, etc), my mom took my to a ton of those shows in the mid-late 80s so got my fill, but am I the only one who thinks the dude in the Grassroots sounds like a quitter when he sings the refrain to Midnight Confessions?

A couple of nights ago I caught Pat Metheny in Asheville, NC.

Here is a simpler one of his pieces (solo rendition of "And I Love Her"):

I saw him a few years ago. I was a big fan in college. I played a lot of his stuff on my radio program. Still Life Talking is still a great album although I prefer traditional jazz now. His new album is excellent BTW. He still does some acoustic jazz stuff. Doing more now actually.

His current tour ("Sideeye") is him plus drummer and keyboardist/synths. Show ranged the gamut from acoustical simple (like the video above) to very complex almost experimental jazz.

Country Joe uses a few F bombs as a point of emphasis in this the most patriotic song of the 1960s:

Blue Aeroplanes. Saw this band rock it out at The Paradise Rock Club in the early 90s. So cool, they even had their own dancer for the entire show!
