First, why do you focus only on NC and VA? Pennsylvania owns its liquor stores.
Do I have to break out puppets to explain this stuff to you? I'll try again.
The Republican BS pitch is: vote for us because we run minimal government with minimal regulation.
And when I give Pete concrete evidence that this is a complete lie, your idiotic response is: Pennsylvania. And 'the Dems do it too."
Dude I don't give a sh*t what the Dems do. I want your party to do what it claims they do so that I can vote for their representatives. Get it?
Why the F would I vote for a Republican if they're just gonna do the same doggone thing the Dems do, but also waste my time by trying to "stick it to the gays" when they aren't regulating the F out of my business?
What the heck are you talking about? It's cultural? It's 2022, not 1933, Petey. Plenty of Bible Belt States NEVER had a State run liquor store.
Cultural.
Utter nonsense reasoning.
Pete things Big Government and Socialism is fine if the reason given for it, is "it's cultural". Oh, well, why didn't you say so before, Pete? Lets make all restaurants that serve alcohol Government Run because Pete says "it's cultural".
2022 Midterms

Re: 2022 Midterms
It's not just liquor, Pete. I was simply giving you a concrete example. You can't look at the stupid Florida reg that forces me to pay for an approval for one single whiskey label, and chalk it up to "culture". it's completely pointless and expensive red tape that shouldn't exist if your Republican leaders simply walked the walk when it came to removing pointless government barriers to business.Peter Brown wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 4:44 pm Yet you say you ‘hate Republicans’ because two states are in the liquor biz.
Try and open a restaurant with a patio in Florida, Pete. What you will find are the same stupid, pointless, costly rules and regulations you find in every other Dem run State. You have to have a permit for a freaking grease trap in Florida, Pete. Wake up.
The sales pitch that your Republican team is business friendly is a lie. What that sales pitch REALLY means, is that they'll stick it to businesses like mine......all the regulations I can handle, and full freight with no breaks on taxes. While big business get priority when building things, and the tax breaks are endless.
That's not business friendly. That's cronyism on the backs of small businesses like mine.
Hard pass. Wake me up when your party finally walks the walk on this issue.

The media is so dishonest. I don’t know how anyone trusts them. They spend two years telling you how awful Madison Cawthorn is (he is, but more immature than awful), reheated naturally by the usual suspects, and this morning, after many of us Republicans donated and worked on behalf of Chuck Edward’s so we could defeat him, our ‘vaunted’ media is despressed Cawthorn lost. I’m scanning CNN and MSNBC, who after a tiny moment of glee, then tell their viewers that‘the Republican Party is lost’.
Just truly amazing.
Reminds me of some Fanlax FLP.

ok, Vlad, we'll just "trust" your state TV , Fox.
I've been on this AM, and I'm seeing no "glee", rather straight reporting of "mixed bag" about Trump's continued influence. Several whack jobs and reprobates were defeated in GOP primaries, but several got through, indeed the GOP's candidate for Governor is about as dangerously anti-democracy as they come.

Some of us stay in a fight rather than cut and run. I promise it’s more worthwhile, even if you don’t think you’ve got what it takes. Think it over.
Lots of happy voices on conference calls this morning. MTG hopefully is next. You can support her exceptionally qualified primary opponent here:

And no, Jennifer won't get my support. She firmly and proudly espouses all the culture war nonsense that I reject, just without the "crazy" of MGT.

It’s always a rookie mistake to talk about yourself, MD. I’m interested in ideas, not people.
But since you asked pleasantly, I have zero formal role with the RNC; I’m just a meager donor doing my bit to ensure the party grows. And a lot of folks are VERY happy today!! Madison was a drag on the broader positive Republican message. Republicans represent all that is good about this country. Patriotic, constitutionalist, business, freedom of speech, civility. When guys like Madison mess up the message, we do what we can to move them along and away.
MTG will be harder to displace, but Jennifer is great so everyone is hopeful. I sent her $2,700. I know many others have as well. But MTG has ample funds because she’s tapped into the national disgust with the far lefts lunacy. She’ll be tough to defeat but we might get it done. Everyone is trying.
There are more on the list, but let’s start with these two. LFG!!!

I'd responded to you just above this one with a smile...it was a funny joke you made, IMO.
Nothing to do with my response to Petey's diatribe.

Shapiro vs. Mastriano will be pretty fascinating to watch.

Re: 2022 Midterms
I'm just watching from across the river, but I agree.
The Rs have screwed this up royally. With a good candidate, they had a real shot at the Governor's race. I don't think this MAGA clown will win.
Assuming the Wizard of Oz wins the R primary, the Rs will have similarly screwed up the Senate race. I don't think the carpetbagger from NJ can win. As Charlie Dent says, this becomes a one issue race: Oz is not a Pennsylvanian. Easy issue to understand. Easy to vote against the alien from NJ. Had the Rs run a reasonable candidate, he or she could well have won.
Hope I'm not counting my chickens too early.
