I don’t expect a refund.

Our club plans for more local, video taped play dates/small tournaments. If the Steps tournaments are a go, we will attend. I can see them being pushed to the fall, which would be fine too. Being with a bigger more established club is definitely proving to be a good decision because they are much more in the know with what is happening nationwide and able to drive plans for the summer.

We’ve been actively watching college camps and clinics and those are a real moving target. It’s hard to commit to some with a back up date, because another opportunity is scheduled for that back up date. Then some of the preferred schools aren’t having any this summer (but will later in the fall) so we’ve got to decide which ones on the second tier list are worth it from a time and money standpoint bearing in mind she’ll want to go to those in the fall. It’s definitely tricky.

Youngest is going to play in this tournament. All we can do is hope....This is the first of three tournaments and it is weighing heavy on my mind.

I take every precaution, but as 6 degrees of separation (Kevin Bacon) shows, it may be out of our control on what we are exposed to. Maybe the near 100 degree heat will help?????

New Jersey has now added Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia to the list of states for which there is a travel advisory. New Jersey residents that travel to those states are “demanded” by Gov. Murphy to quarantine upon return to the Garden State, although (somewhat inconsistent to the use of the word “demand”) these requirements are “voluntary.”

Wonder if this will have an impact on the willingness of clubs or individual players/families to attend tournaments in those states?

It's crazy - will eliminate the ability for NJ clubs to participate in the MD tournaments. PA kids can go to MD for tournaments and they can go to NJ for tournaments (Steps playday this weekend) but NJ can't go to MD...makes no sense.

A side note, the Laxin out loud tournament this weekend was moved from Maryland to Delaware because Montgomery County served a cease order on the Maryland Soccerplex.

It is certainly crazy. The New Jersey quarantine rules are voluntary, but I suspect some clubs and individuals will agree to comply with them.

I’m aware of one New Jersey club that has pulled out of a tournament in Maryland. Not sure about other NJ clubs.

The STEPS play day is going on this weekend. It is more or less a substitute or replacement for the Cure. I attended the last two days. Clubs from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and Connecticut are competing. All age groups. Seems to be running about as well as can be expected. I’m aware of a report of one team (not the entire club) having to pull out after a player tested positive.

I am wondering about the Under Armour event. I’ve heard the seniors game has already been canceled. They are still trying to hold the underclass games. Seems pretty crazy to me that they are going to try to fly in teams from Florida, Georgia, Texas, California, etc., but we shall see. I’m also wondering how the New Jersey quarantine rules will impact the New Jersey team. Tryouts were yesterday. As far as I know, the NJ rosters haven’t been announced as yet. Philly rosters are out as are some others.

This is the real story that the NY Times won't print - thank god these kids had club lacrosse this summer to have just a bit of normalcy in their lives
