It always depends on the circumstances. I said the same think about Cook to CNU last year. I was wrong, people let me know about it.Jumbo wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 11:55 amI agree that transfers rarely make an impact going from d1 to d3. Reality is top d3 programs are very good. If someone is transferring from d1, they probably weren’t getting much playing timeergit wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 9:36 amParent opinions are irrelevant. They should just mind their own business. Speaking from the outside, but based on the team’s results, I doubt the team culture is built on entitlement. Playing time is earned, no matter the circumstance.
As far as transfer portal talk, I wouldn’t put too much stock in it. Coaches keep that information close to them. What I have observed, transfers (namely D1) rarely make the expected impact and sometimes struggle for playing time.
There’s been some very good ones over the years. Cortland and Salisbury have had some great success with transfers over the years. Particularly in the early 2010s - Schneidman, Cannone, Mendes, Winterfeldt, Sullivan, Granelli, etc.
Hubbard at W&L was a 2nd Team All-American this year. - transferred from Furman.
The more I look at the Cortland/Salisbury hay day the more I realize how many of those players came from ACC/B1G level programs. I think with the transfer portal there have been a lot more D1 to D1 transfers for those caliber players in recent history.
