St. Lawrence just needs to slow down and do the fundamentals. I didn't see the whole game but in the 4th
they would have won if they slowed down, backed up shots and cleared the ball carefully. They laid an egg for sure

The Liberty has been good for quite a while even when it was the Upstate. The desertion of the E8 by RIT and Ithaca has obviously made it stronger but SLU, Union, Clarkson, Skidmore and RPI were always a strong core group.

Great win for the Dutchmen and the Liberty League!
Could this be the year that we get three teams into the NCAAs?

Some good league play this weekend. Most excited to see if Clarkson is the real deal against a proven Union team; whether the Engineers can hang at all with the Tigers from Rochester and my game of the weekend is Ithaca vs SLU. I honestly can see that one going either way and the Bombers are hosting! Vassar and Skidmore should be a good tilt as well. A bit less important in the league than the others but similarly skilled teams should make for a close one.

Regardless of the outcome in RIT-RPI, this is an incredible performance from Perry. Not getting much help (does RPI normally just…play straight up and never slide?) and standing on his head in the cage.

I'm mourning but you got to give RPI a lot of credit. Wow just wow. Nice home win!

Liberty and NESCAC turned upside down. Who thought that RPI would get the first Liberty win vs RIT? Things are wide open! Midd takes down Tufts. Nice! Union and SLU winners in tight games. Fisher fights Naz for a win. D3 New York teams have really stepped up their games this year. Glad to see it. Oh yeah and Morrisville takes care of St Mary’s of Md.

Union has an unbelievable schedule straight ahead.

04/06 @ Saint John Fisher
04/09 @ RIT
04/16 @ RPI

Bombers looming also.

With RIT vulnerable can Union cement themselves as the team to beat in the Liberty.

It’s great the the LL has some very good teams at the top (and don’t count out St Lawrence), but while while RPI’s win was huge for that program, and the LL in general, it’s still RIT’s throne until someone wins the LL tourney. I can see these teams beating each other through the end of the season, since they have so much talent.
The real hope is that the LL gets three teams in the NCAA’s, which at this point in the season they deserve

Lots to think about here.RIT comes back strong vs Union, Clarkson takes care of RPI, SLU rips Skidmore, Ithaca handles Vassar.
RIT still looks like #1 but they certainly look vulnerable to all but Vassar and Skidmore.
Union would be #2. A patient offense that looks like it could be prolific if need be. And a strong defense.
SLU #3. They are so much better than last year. Not only that, they are much better than at the start of the season. Murphy and Huiatt add a ton to the offense and Helm is a strong anchor to a good defense.
Ithaca #4 only because they have the win vs Clarkson.
Clarkson #5 they now have that strong win vs RPI.
RPI #6 wow they beat RIT and are #6?? This is how strong the Liberty is this year. Man I feel like NESCAC fan!!
#7Vassar beat Skidmore and have a nice win vs Montclair.
#8 Skidmore don’t kid yourself, this is an ok team, just not in this league.

Jon Heisman

Bishop Shanahan veteran coach Jon Heisman earned his 500th win as a head coach Friday when his Eagles claimed a 14-0 victory over host Mifflin County in Lewistown, PA.

Heisman, who has been a head coach in the region since 1989, joins La Salle’s Bill Leahy as the only two coaches in PA boys’ history to reach the 500-win plateau in state games. Leahy had 512 wins from 1992-2019.

Heisman – a member of the Eastern PA Chapter of the USA Lacrosse Hall of Fame who owns three PA state titles – also has coached at Springfield-Delco and West Chester East.

Your top 6 teams have a combined 44-3 out of conference record……how many teams qualify for the LL playoffs?

I'm pretty sure it's just the top 4 teams that qualify. Not sure what the tiebreakers are.

As it stands now, that would be RPI, RIT, Union, and St Lawrence. Ithaca would lose out to St Lawrence via tiebreaker. But Ithaca still plays 3 of those 4 teams, and obviously there's still a lot of league play left. Interesting to see how it plays out.

I'm just hoping Ithaca acquits themselves against RIT tonight; their last few outings (against RIT) have been rough, to say the least.

7-0 at the end of the first.

Given that IC beat Clarkson, who beat RPI, who beat RIT (and all within the last few weeks), I was hoping that IC would at least look like they belonged on the same field as RIT for a change. Nope. Same-old, same-old.

Can't even watch the broadcast, it's so bad. Oh well...

It's too hard to judge in Liberty and NESCAC. Ithaca will always be stagnant in the league and not competitive unless Long leaves. They'll play skidmore close and lose heavily to RPI, Union and Cortland this year. Next year they'll be struggling big time
