Current standings in the conference with conference records plus overall records:

1. Wingate 8-1/10-1 --- what is left: game against Tusculum scheduled for 4/17 that is listed as postponed...may not be played
2. LR 7-1/9-1 --- left: LMU 4/9 @7 pm, Mars HIll 4/17 @7 pm
3. Queens 6-2/6-4 --- left: Anderson 4/10 @4 pm, @Catawba 4/17 @4 pm
4. Limestone 6-3/7-3 --- left: @Coker 4/10 @4 pm, (OOC) Belmont Abbey (game moved) 4/17 @7 pm
5. Newberry 4-4/5-5 --- left: @Mars Hill 4/10 @noon, LMU 4/17 @6:30 pm
5. Catawba 4-4/5-6 --- left: @Tusculum 4/11 (postponed), Queens 4/17 @4 pm
7. Tusculum 3-4/6-4 --- left: Catawba 4/11 (postponed), @Wingate 4/17 (postponed)
8: Coker 2-5/4/6 --- left: Limestone 4/10 @ 4 pm, @Anderson 4/17 @4 pm
9: Anderson 2-6/4-6 --- left: @Queens 4/10 @4 pm, Coker 4/17 @4 pm
10. Mars HIll 1-7/3-8 --- left: Newberry 4/10 @noon, @LR 4/17 @7 pm
11. Lincoln Memorial 0-6/0-6 left: @LR 4/9 @7 pm, @Coker 4/14 @1 pm

Playoff is six teams with #1, #2 getting a first round bye, #3 hosting #6, and #4 hosting #5. Semis and finals are at LR if I remember correctly, with #1 vs #4/#5 winner and #2 getting the #3/#6 winner.

Right now Wingate is in the #1 position, but if they do not make up the Tusculum game and record winning percentage is the first criteria could lose the #1 seed to LR on the basis of playing one less team. But not very likely that Queens gets either the #1 or #2 slot as LR will not likely lose to either LMU or Mars Hill, and Wingate if they play Tusculum the same thing can be said.

Queens is in control of its own destiny as winning out would guarantee the #3 seed. One loss and a Stone win over Coker would likely put Stone in the #3 slot, but if Stone beats Coker they guarantee no worse than the #4 seed.

Newberry has the best path to the #5 seed (and a likely rematch with Stone in Gaffney) as Catawba still has to play Queens, who will be favored in that game. Tusculum and Coker cannot be counted out unless both Newberry and Catawba win out...

Anderson, Mars Hill and LMU are definitely out of the running for the conference tournament this year.

if the Tusculum games do in fact get cancelled wouldn't they likely just remove all results from all teams vs. Tusculum. If you were to do that and assume the teams win the remaining games they should then Wingate and LR would end up tied and tie breaker now goes to Wingate.

Does anyone know what the situation is with Tusculum MLAX? Their last 3 games are cancelled. Hopefully nothing serious and players, staff and families are healthy.

Tusculum player showed symptoms of Covid the day after the Coker game. everyone tested and several players came up positive but no symptoms.

They were hoping to make up at least 1-2 games but I haven't heard an update. obviously running out of time.

That means that the tests would have been done on 4/3. Release after the standard 2 weeks on 4/17. They are really running out of time. Maybe if they were able to play Wingate on say, Sunday, it might allow the Bulldogs to be the clear #1 seed...

Queens will be the #3 seed unless they lose their last game (Catawba). Then they tie with Stone, and would go to seed #4 because of the head-to-head matchup...

So both Queens and Limestone will be hosting quarterfinals - it is just a question of whom they are hosting...

The season is over for Queens due to Covid. Word went out to the team today. Very sad.

I have read that Catawba Mens Lacrosse team has had their season shut down. Implications for the SAC Tournament.
Given the win by Wingate over LR, then the tie breaker for first in SAC regular season is most 1) conference wins, 2) higher winning percentage 3) Head to Head record. Assuming LR wins over Mars Hill, LR will have most wins in SAC in 2021 and first seed. The SAC Tournament would likely line up as LR vs Tusculum/Newberry and Coker/Anderson would playoff to meet Limestone and then that winner plays Wingate. LR is hosting the SAC Final. Really unfortunate for these teams to have come this far and only to be prevented from these play downs to a conference championship.

You are correct - Newberry is out due to COVID protocols or number of players available being too small. So everyone below Stone moves up one seed...

Limestone vs Anderson today at 4 pm. Tusculum hosting Coker at 2 pm, also today.

I would expect no problems for Stone, given how they have played lately, but one really never knows in playoffs. The other game might be interesting to see how Tusculum handles coming back from a two week break in play...

Tusculum 10, Coker 9. Two goals for the Pioneers while holding the Cobras scoreless in the fourth quarter does it to bring them to the semi with LR.

Limestone 18, Anderson 5. A 10-1 first quarter plus a D that held the Trojans to their lowest output in a game puts the Saints in the other semi vs Wingate...
