Welcome back Tumble. Have you sobered up yet? Pitt and I have had to drink without you the last couple months.

If the JB rumors are true, then a number of the Tampa faithful may not stop having a few

… or maybe he’s planning to retire in a year or two, and just wants Tampa to pay for the movers

Re: UTampa
The names that have been thrown around and close to this job, I wonder if it was close or a slam dunk
Either way Tampa has their man (pending press release) and itll be interesting to see who JB gets to fill out the rest of his staff

Re: UTampa
Can't argue with the success JB had at Limestone. My guess is he wants a new challenge. Good for him; he has earned the right to do so! And good for the kids at Tampa. I know NOTHING about their previous staff; so this is not an indictment on them....but JB will bring the type of structure, discipline, accountability, and leadership that can take a talented team and get them over the hump.

Re: UTampa
Any chance Tampa is thinking of going D1 as a department? I totally get J.B. wanting a new challenge. But I wonder if there is more to it from that “new challenge”’perspective.

Thinking, yes more than likely, acting on it in the near future, probably not. As it relates to lacrosse, you may see Lemoyne or Queens make that move before TampaLaxPundit07 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 3:12 pm Any chance Tampa is thinking of going D1 as a department?
Re: UTampa
Queens will run into the same problem Lincoln Memorial has in trying to get a D1 invite - not having football makes it really tough to get a conference interested. Same applies to Tampa unless football is on the horizon.SouthernLaxGenius wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 3:23 pmThinking, yes more than likely, acting on it in the near future, probably not. Great hire Spartans! Great coach and class guy! Re: D1, I don't think all of the SoCon teams have football. Would be awesome to have more teams in that conference..RedFromMI wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 3:31 pmQueens will run into the same problem Lincoln Memorial has in trying to get a D1 invite - not having football makes it really tough to get a conference interested. They all want more football programs. That is why you don’t see non football schools making the leap as often anymore.FMUBart wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 3:41 pmGreat hire Spartans! I would also like to add that Queens has more money than LMU and is more "flexible" in regards to certain things the NCAA is/would be asking. They wouldnt just be focusing on, let's just say, the success of their basketball program during their pitch/presentation
