Re: FanLax Forum Poll
The FanLax Computer Rankings are based on each team's Three Best Wins and Three Worst Losses. Some teams haven't played enough games to have their Three Wins and other teams just have rough schedules so they don't have three wins yet. For these teams that are at a distinct disadvantage within this ranking, they are marked with an asterisks to show that they're currently being weighed down by their lack of Three Wins. None the less, Team Rankings based on each teams Best Wins and Worst Losses...

Some missing teams from the drop-down: Lander, Lewis, Anderson, Montevallo. NYIT and Merrimack should be removed...
Re: FanLax Forum Poll
I already see Montevallo. Maybe look again. Added Lander, Lewis, and Anderson. Removed NY Tech and Merrimack. Thank you, Red.

Re: FanLax Forum Poll
Red - why no love for Newberry - both fairly close losses to ranked teams.
Re: FanLax Forum Poll
They just missed in my mind - I have them at #30 in KRACH (admittedly this early not exactly reliable), and the old laxpower type ratings have them at #31. Get a good win or two and they will be deserving...greatwhitenorth wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 12:47 pm Red - why no love for Newberry - both fairly close losses to ranked teams.

Tomorrow and Saturday's games, if Newberry wins, will help a lot. http://app.lummys.com/team/2319/2022

Re: FanLax Forum Poll
fair points but 30 seems low - two wins this week should do it - I believe both their opponents are over ranked.

Love the different views on the top teams! This is awesome to see. I think its going to be super difficult to rank the teams that are 3rd or 4th in the better conferences (i.e. Rollins, Lenoir Rhyne, Florida Southern, FTech, Roberts Wesleyan, Frostburg, Bentley, etc.) these teams always seem to get enough wins to impress some people but lose out playing top 10 teams in their own conference match ups.

Lots of twists and turns at the top of the pile. This is how I've got it. I've included each team's Rank, Name, Win %, Win Ranking, and Loss Ranking.NE10 Insider wrote: ↑Thu Mar 24, 2022 8:48 am Love the different views on the top teams! This is awesome to see...

Here is how Massey has it (games through last night):
1. Tampa
2. Rollins
3. Le Moyne
4. Limestone
5. Lindenwood
6. Wingate
7. Florida Southern
8. Mercyhurst
9. Florida Tech
10. Indianapolis
11. Lenoir-Rhyne
12. St. Anselm
13. Pace
14. Adelphi
15. Colorado Mesa
16. Mercy
17. Westminster (UT)
18. Queens (NC)
19. Bentley
20. Saint Leo
21. Lynn
22. Seton Hill
23. Belmont Abbey
24. Anderson (SC)
25. Newberry
My KRACH numbers (I don't use these for my forum poll ratings directly, but they inform my input):
1. Tampa
2. Rollins
3. Limestone
4. Lindenwood
5. Le Moyne
6. Indianapolis
7. Florida Southern
8. Lenoir-Rhyne
9. Mercy
10. Pace
11. Florida Tech
12. Roberts Wesleyan
13. Colorado Mesa
14. Franklin Pierce
15. Adelphi
16. St. Anselm
17. Saint Leo
18. Bentley
19. Wingate
20. Tusculum
21. Anderson (SC)
22. Belmont Abbey
23. Mercyhurst
24. Wilmington
25. Lewis
The prime difference is that a computer system like Massey's is trying to predict margins of victory (ie how good offenses and defenses are) vs. the KRACH approach which is just trying to get to wins and losses without regard to margins of victory or actual scores.
