Saturday is basically D Day for Hofstra mlax as we could either solidify a CAA tourney spot or potentially be out of contention by end of day. If we lose and Towson beats Delaware and UMass beats Fairfield then we will already be eliminated since we would lose a three-way tiebreaker to both. We still control our own destiny so hopefully can take cake of business.

Ryan Tierney goes in 2nd round, 16th overall, to the Whipsnakes in the PLL draft. He's going to be a good pro. His game translates very well to the PLL.

Nice comeback win last night to keep season alive. We now need help from Drexel beating Towson in order to make CAA Tourney.

Casey saved the Pride last night. What a second half! Saved his best game for last. Drexel vs Towson is gonna be a lot of fun.

I think Hofstra will get in. That’s a tall order for the Tigers today.

I hope you are right! I'm nervous though since Towson has everything to play for and Drexel not much since I don't think they have realistic shot at an at-large despite its record.

and Hofstra gets help it needs with Drexel storming back from 9-6 down in third quarter to knock off Towson 12-11 on goal with 11 seconds left. We now get second life as the 4 seed against Delaware Thursday at 4 p.m.

So there is an actual regular season tournament there featuring Hofstra, St. John’s, Stony Brook and LIU? Very cool. Also supports my argument in college that Queens is part of Long Island, much to my LI teammates’ disagreement.

Yes, viewing Long Island as a land mass, Queens is certainly part of Long Island. For plenty of people, there is also an element of Rhode Island: there are borders drawn on maps, Rhode Island is not part of Massachusetts, Long Island is not part of New York City, it is Nassau and Suffolk Counties, while Queens is part of NYC. People who live in Queens generally don't say, "I live on Long Island;" or if they did, they'd be accused of lying.

I agree, the four-way mini-tourney between Hofstra, Stony Brook, LIU and St John's is cool. Whole lotta home games for Hofstra, and no more Tar Heels.

Bigger difference between Astoria and Hauppauge than Astoria and Manhattan. But sure it’s cultural rather than geographic.

NYC to me is Manhattan even though you have the boroughs. Any crossing of water is only to support a friend who moved to: Glen cove, park slope, Hoboken, Astoria, riverdale/Pelham. After that initial trip or two said friends need to be coming into the city, not the other way around.

Big downgrade compared to the last few years where Michigan, Ohio State, Georgetown, Lehigh, Princeton and UNC have all been on the schedule. It's hard to get teams like that back once you stop playing them, coach must not be confident in what he has.

Sometimes it can make sense to dial it down a notch and rebuild soem momentum.

Looks like some of their peers in the CAA are making their schedules stronger, I guess changes year to year, I do like the fact that they have many NY / Long Island rivals on the schedule.

Let’s get a Hobart-Hof game going. Have scrimmaged many times in the past decade or two but haven’t played in forever. Raymond and S Tierney know each other I’m pretty certain. Would be a nice game I think.
