Big East-2023

Post by gymman1031 »

Hate to be negative, but I sure hope things are better, and maybe much better, than they were this past season. All the power to Delaware. But chances aren't half-bad that the Big East having a down year in 2022 played a part in G-Town not being super well-prepared for the postseason.

St. Johns and Providence will have new coaches.

if Providence finds the right guy - they could get on track sooner then later...

I agree about Providence having potential. Any word on who the next coach might be?

With Maryland's season now over, might Terps' OC Bobby Benson be named the new man at Providence soon?

Wow! I wouldn't be surprised if this is one of Nova's finest incoming classes ever. If not their FINEST! Will they win their first ever conference tournament title and get to their first ever NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals with this class?

If you are judging by the amount of 4 stars, you would be correct. But Villanova has had some great classes with far less 4 stars including '17 (two four stars) when they brought in Owen Prybylski, Collin Crowley, Keegan Kahn (3 stars), Corey McManus and Eric Overbay. And the '18 class with Matt Campbell, Pat Daly, MIke Ubriaco, Will Vitton and Chet Comizio was also pretty good. We shall see how these 7 four star guys measure up over the next couple years. THere will be plenty of opportunities for freshman to start right away.

Bobby Benson is aboard as Providence's coach. Him making Providence a lot better would be, obviously, huge for the Big East.

I believe the “raters” completely whiffed on Connor Kirst.

That,
or they weren’t including PG players.

Justin Turri, most recently at Michigan, is set to be St. John's' next head coach. Best of luck to him! Obviously, the Johnnies improving would be huge for the whole conference.

Would be a great story if, regardless of wins, Turri becomes one of the latest examples of coaches who do "more with less".

With Providence's and St. John's new coaches getting their systems in-place, let's hope serious improvement from both will be shown in 2023.

With Tierney retiring, does this result in the Pioneers having so much extra incentive that they end up doing pretty well?
