That’s the right pick up for them,

what with SBU heading to the CAA.

Makes sense-takes Kevin Mack’s place w Paolnetti
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, Malcolm
See Jesus, Judas; Caesar, Brutus
See success is like suicide

I add Dolan update to Maryland but I have not seen it elsewhere and find it odd
He is the younger brother of Dan Dolan goalie in ‘19.

Just seems like a lot of goalies;
Drew Morris Gr. - will be gone
Logan McNaney Jr. - returning starter
Jackson Marshall G So.
Westin Schmidt G Fr.
Brian Ruppel - incoming Fr.

No reason to doubt that but maybe the threshold to add a name/destination to the list should be higher than someone with 2 total posts reporting it with no proof. Could very well be true but might save us the headache of having to update again if it turns out to be off the mark, as others have been in the past like with Hincks going to Duke.

There certainly seems to be a lot of smoke with Jacob Kelly to Georgetown, for instance, have heard that now from a bunch of people I trust but until we get something resembling confirmation might be better off holding off on the update. My two cents — not a big deal either way

I don't think the transfer portal is a good idea for the vast majority of programs. Tillman is the only coach who is adept enough to make it work (and I am not a UMD fan). UNC, Duke, G'Town, ND all went heavy portal and it didn't work out. I actually think that is a big reason why all those teams started poorly. Coaches always seem to discount the locker room effect.

To be clear, I am not saying the transfers are bad kids or players, but I do think it messes with the locker room when coaches bring in transfers and essentially "cover up" underclassman or the next in line guy. If athletes don't believe they will be rewarded for hardwork and commitment to the program with at least a fair opportunity to compete for starting job, they eventually stop working and a certain level of apathy settles in. It shows a lack of confidence in the guys a coach already has on campus.

Perhaps this has less to do with the coach and more to do with the player? Both Khan and Donville are really humble guys. They didn’t come in knocking over the china. Perhaps those are the kinds of kids Tillman would accept, so maybe it is him.

Rutgers has been very successful with the portal. If you ask Coach Brecht or the kids themselves, they will tell you why. Two things, which I suspect are exactly the same at Maryland.

1) The guys in the locker room are great. They want to win and have great culture. It makes absorbing transfers much easier.
2) The guys coming in want to be part of that. They have all been good kids and value the same things the players in the program do. I give a lot of credit to the places they came from and more importantly, the players themselves.

When you have those two things, it works seamlessly. If you don't have those two things, it's not going to work.

I won't name names but there are guys I see playing on other teams that wanted to come to Rutgers but the second part of the equation wasn't right, so Coach Brecht passed.

I agree with the general notion that transfers can spoil enough chemistry that something valuable is lost when the season turns into May games that matter. In a business, when new people come in to run things, or replace a series of pieces that were part of a team it is a complex process to make sure all the new pieces do not appear to have sharp elbows or say something at the office party, or inadvertently harm someone who turns out to matter to how the group bonds. I can point to talented teams, Denver with TD and the rest of the Yale stars, Georgetown this year, where on paper they look huge and All American and vastly upgraded but then... a one goal game ends the whole parade to Final Four Weekend. I am not critical of those players or coaches, just suggest that it may take longer than a season to merge them fully into a system, not just talent wise but people wise too. So Caveat Emptor along with Holy S*#t look who we got!

Who is likely to be the #1 candidate in the portal? Any one know which Ivy players have retained eligibility for another year elsewhere?

You are clueless younger kids and parents hate the portal, they want out, do you think they are going to say something until they find a new home, again why would you send your kid to Rutgers go to Patriot league better schools

I wonder if this is maybe a different kind of transfer, a kid not looking to play so much as help with the scouting team, getting a one-year business degree, plus the brother went there.
