Extremely underrated HC position, Madonna is one of a select few programs across all levels of college lacrosse to ever play in a national championship game. If your goal is to not just to win but win it all, why not jump NAIA and run forward with schollies!? Should have an interesting applicant pool, excited to see the direction they choose to go!

Any news on MoBap, Madonna, Reinhardt? Did the IT go to Reinhardt ahead of his coach coming? Any other openings out there? School is getting ready to start would think they’d want coaches in place

Interesting, will they join the KCAC I am guessing? one position not a good thing, only one or two people I know that can really pull that off

Question the commitment level here, this guy has been your asst for 4 years, it took you a month+ to advertise, interview and you name him your interim HC? He is also very involved in other stuff so maybe it is a two way street, MoBap did not get any quality apps and this guy is not totally committed but will work as a band-aid. I do know the old HC was also a AD, so maybe coaching only they are not willing to pay much. just thinking out loud.

I can you a 2 former NAIA conference coaches of the year applied for the job and didn't even get phone interviews. From what people around the program have said it wasn't a coaching search either. This guy was going to be the coach from the get go. Not sure why they didn't give him the full title though. The women's head coach ran the search too. He doesn't have the greatest reputation around coaching water cooler if you know what I mean.

JD LeMay was announced as Brevard's (D3) new Head coach yesterday, so Missouri Valley needs a new Men's and Women's coach

Gardner did have the Interim Head Men's Lacrosse Coach tag, wonder if he wants the job and they are just going through the process or if the are actually looking.

That's a great point, just seems pretty early to start the search if he's planning on staying on for the spring.

I don't know seems like they are trying to start early to set up for next year. The way things have been going they probably think its going to take a while

That could be true for sure, I guess I'm wondering what current coach is going to go through and interview process in February/March of their own season for a job that would probably start in June/July (depending on MoBap's fiscal year schedule)

You could be right and MoBap is just trying to get as large of a list of names so they're ready for the interview process in May, to me it seems unlikely that those who are applying in Feb would still be interested after that long after.

I guess we'll find out haha

They probably should have the main AD handle the hiring this time around. They had solid candidates last time around I was told but they let the women's coach handle the coaching search. He didn't even interview some of the legit candidates....2 being former college head coaches.

Oh, yikes. That's not a good look. I've been on committees where other head coaches help and are part of the search, not running the whole thing. I also wonder about budget & salary. Maybe that's the reason former college HC's were omitted?

Not surprising, heard he’s a joke as a HC. Been MIA at times, not showing up for practices, no communication with players, etc. look at their roster 2 freshmen this year and heard no one signed yet for next year. 10 seniors on a roster of only 16, looks like a good chance another KCAC program folding. RIP Clarke, MoValley, Morningside, St Mary’s
