Colgate HC Heather Young steps aside 3 weeks before season opens due to family considerations. Newly hired asst coach Liz Beville will act as interim HC. We'll see...

Liz Beville will do an outstanding job at Colgate. Her lacrosse roots run deep coming from a Lacrosse family and having played for Upstate Coaching Legend Kathy Taylor at SUNY Cortland. Congratulations to both Colgate for getting it right and to Liz Beville for the opportunity.

This is, to me, anyway, not unexpected. This should be an elite, top ten team year in and year out. Michigan’s trajectory makes this change in leadership almost inevitable.

The only question with the ouster of Tracey Coyne is "what took so long?" GW will be much better off without her at the helm.

That's a strong statement...and why?

Best jobs available... 1) Rutgers 2) Ohio State 3) Delaware 4)Arizona State 5) George Washington 6) Lafayette

*Colgate had an interim HC this season, but if they're smart they will keep her on.

Is that list in order of best job - least attractive job? I'd love to hear reasoning if yes!

Arizona State is requiring half their roster be made up of in-state players (in state scholarships are cheaper to fund) and that the coach do a significant amount of fundraising to fund their operating budget (less money needed from the athletic department to fund the daily operations of the program). It is apparent they do not want to support this program the same way other BCS schools do. Really unfortunate.

Ohio State and Rutgers seem to be desirable jobs. They are big time BCS programs with great facilities and resources. They are just programs that have been stagnant in recent years as their departments have been hesitant to change the leadership of the lax programs.

Delaware could be a sleeping giant. Right smack dab in the middle of the Baltimore, Philly, Jersey recruiting hot beds. State school. Good science and math programs in this STEM era.

Poor GW and Lafayette....

Colgate will conduct a full search for their next HC. Very, very, very doubtful that the interim (LB) retains the position. Simply stated, the fit wasn't right.

Not a problem. Rutgers, Ohio State and Delaware are the most attractive jobs because they are fully funded and just need a coach with some acumen and vision. The other three jobs have their own specific sets of problems from funding to location to cost of the school to all of the above.
The list of candidates for the first 3 should be interesting.
