This weekend, 3 of the 20 Biggest Games will be played: 18th Biggest is Rutgers vs. OSU, 5th Biggest is Yale vs. Penn, and the #1 Biggest is... Maryland vs. PSU. Other games will eclipse this (e.g. the Championship Final, Final Four, etc.) b...

Re: 2019 Bracketology Thread
Towson - Not much margin for error left. I think they still could get an at-large bid if they win out and lose in the CAA tournament, but it will be close. Of the remaining games left, only UMass will really help them. Agreed....at this point winning the CAA could put the Tigers in a solid position...

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)
-- i don't know how many posts i've read about the president and administration of hopkins on boards over the years, but it is easily 50x more than every other school combined, and i still don't know what you guys are talking about. -- cooter is probably correct in that maryland has been more in the...

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)
it was a more than great series, most especially recently, and sad to see it end.
hopefully, it's back up within a year or 5.
coach or coaches --- should be ashamed.

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)
You are not wrong as to the facts. Duke was out in their black shooting shirts and stood for the national anthem and then left the field and everyone was going What the heck? Hopkins had to stand there and partner pass for over 5 minutes. The steam was literally coming out of Petro's head. Then the...

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)
I won't comment on the end of the series with UVA except to say that I always looked forward to the short ride down Charles Street and the challenging jaunt to College Park as chances to see UVA live locally and am upset that I won't be able to, probably for the rest of my life. looks like you'll h...

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)
it's garbage, homer. whoever's pulling the strings on this is doing it in their own self-interest.
somebody posted somewhere the game's been played every year since like 1948. that's post-war. garbage.

Re: Inside Lacrosse rankings
they actually could just have 8 teams in and 16 play-ins in this scenario. it's semantics, but the nc$$ likes to bend rules for semantics. unfortunately, they typically only like to do that when they're making money, not losing it. given the nc$$ picks the tab up everywhere for the tourney, until la...

Re: VIRGINIA Lacrosse
once you step on the field in the championship season (for scrimmage or game), you're no longer eligible for a non-medical redshirt. football now allows 4 games, but nobody else for now. if you suffer a season ending injury/illness in the first half of the spring season, and have played < 30% of you...

Re: Olympics - rule changes in lacrosse here
How many of those games you use for examples did they completely revamp for Olympic competition, swami? That's what they want to do with "lacrosse". Other than the sticks and goals that game won't much resemble lacrosse. Call it cradleball, the brand new game for the Olympics, but don't c...

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)
during the lax season, you guys should keep debating and demerit academic superiority and inferiority, rigor... of the ivies and hopkins, and throw in vs. other schools on occasion.
gripping stuff.

Re: Syracuse 2019
some really exciting plays by guys that some folks wanted to bench (it's the internet, bound to happen). hope you guys enjoy this team. faceoffs helped/won the game as much as all these sick offensive plays. cuse wins these games 75+ % of the time against good competition with that disparity alone. ...

the insight that i can share is the staff likes rode to date, though that's not really insight. the stats are what they are. through x # of games --- you or anyone can opine about whether they will change much for a goalie. i know what i think. in the meantime, i'll take where they are, given how th...

Re: Olympics - rule changes in lacrosse here
Of course, we know who the power countries are in lacrosse today. And if the sport were to become an Olympic sport tomorrow, we know who would likely be on the podium for the first few Olympiads. But then, behind the the power of Olympic's global exposure and the power of the Olympic brand, the spo...

Re: Cornell 2019
I think that very much depends on the type of Dmen you've got. If you're playing with a bunch lumbering, heavy-footed Dmen, guess you better face him and hope the rest can cover all the green the 5v5 game offers. If I have a quick footed Dman with good reaction time and a D pole he can can use like...

Re: Cornell 2019
my team already knows how to play its base defenses. cornell had several games last year to figure out effective counters to shutting off teat, and was largely deficient in rising to its previous production. it was a whole thing. not employing that strategy for at least the better part of the first ...

Re: How is New Shot Clock and Dive Rule going n Fall Ball
riding, and creating turnovers from it, is one of the most exciting plays in the game. rewards hustle and tenacity. anyone can do it, doesn't take "talent". it had been dormant, which was deflating, but now is finally back. no idea why anyone would be against that part of the game. que sera.

Re: TV Announcers Consternation Station
I think the real solution here on the 60 versus 80 issue lies in detaching the clearing clock from the shot clock. that was what was originally not just proposed, but cleared for takeoff. then it was panned for a number of reasons, most prominent that it would kill incentive to clear quickly and ev...
