Re: Cornell 2024

I definitely remember than in 2022, the big comeback win over Syracuse seemed to light the fuse that took the Big Red all the way to the National Championship game. Maybe something similar will happen? What an incredibly fun lacrosse game to watch. With all that's been said about the game, the sequ...

Re: Cornell 2024

What a game…. Psyllos came up big again. I’m not sure if it’s his endurance, his ingenuity to figure out what can work against an opponent or just tenacity and competitiveness, likely a combination of all. The game reminded me of the 2007 final four Duke game with a different outcome. The second hal...

Re: Cornell 2024

I agree, especially considering the longer term. I also think Tully can take the defensive leadership Adler had (or at least part of it, big shoes to fill). There are lots of good points in this debate, but I don't want to quote them here because IMHO they are partly a sidetrack from RedIvy's point...

Re: Cornell 2024

I’m not sure year over year save percentage is a fair comparison considering the loss of Adler on Defense. My guess is Tully and Knust save percentage would be higher if Adler was playing this year. My view is Tully is the future with great potential.

Re: Cornell 2024

We lost two long time defensive leaders in Adler and Ierlan from last year, it’s reasonable for on field coordination to build through the season. Davis out the last two games has perhaps slowed the process but still seeing improvement. I think Tully will develop into the defensive leader over this ...

Re: Cornell 2024

Marc Psyllos is an unsung hero. While his win percentage is not high, he seems to figure out his opponents over the course of the game and come up big down the stretch. He just figures out how best to compete for a posession. Note he took almost all the FO’s for Cornell while Yale rotated for rests....

Re: Cornell 2024

Just watching stats, almost all Penn States goals are assisted, are they getting feeds to the crease for door step goals and part of reason for low save rate?

Re: Cornell 2023

Any thoughts on why Petrakis didn’t get more opportunity especially with how he did against Princeton. The only thing I can think of is they didn’t like the refs cadence which Petrakis seems to be very vulnerable to.

Re: Cornell 2023

Nice team effort. Eddie Rayhill has been a great add to the short stick rotation. Just solid position defense, doesn’t overplay and quickness limits his opponent to get a step and reduces need for slides. Davis and Rayhill are one of the best short stick combinations we’ve had in a long time IMO. Bo...

Re: Cornell 2023

Really well played and coached game. Clearly Long is a difference maker, his presence requires a very different defensive strategy and then creates opportunity for everyone. Billy Coyle can do it all as well. Really liked the ball movement…. Looked like offense from recent years. Great game for Ierl...

Re: Cornell 2023

As others have said Penn State played a very smart game with few turnovers and good goal tending. As we all know they are well coached. Blake is clearly not at the level of last year, poor shooting, several turnovers, and when caught on defense created an easy mismatch for Penn State. I understand a...

Re: Ivy League 2023

And in 2021 CJ would have been a freshman with Teat and Long. With Donville along with Connor Fletcher at Midfield. Defense would have been Adler, Doria and Follows. With Coyle, Lombardi, Blake and Matt Lichardi joining Donville and Fletcher at Midfield. Irelan in goal. FO might have been the weak po...

Re: FanLax Forum Poll

This early on I don’t believe you can go by record alone and should weight other criteria higher including returning proven players from previous season, proven coaching, past ability to develop younger players and freshman recruiting rankings. As the season progresses it will be much more about Win...

Re: Cornell 2023

D was strong however concerned about depth at short stick, big drop off after Davis and Bozzi. Lehigh took advantage of that initially until Stevens seem to make adjustments. I though the offense struggled, 2 of 3 second half goals came off rides. Our settle offense seems to struggle to create oppor...

Re: Cornell 2023

Will take the win.. Clearly trying to replace Piatelli and Long is an uphill battle (hoping best for Long). Better ball movement in the second half but still didn’t look even close to recent years. Certainly understand it’s early however getting out late for start of second half and getting the late...

Re: Cornell 2023

Kirst, Adler, Blake and Kelleher not surprising pre-season all Americans. I think 4 that could have big seasons and contend this year as well and be big difference makers are Long, Follows, Petrakis and Irelan, I realize I’m biased but of these 4 I would have thought Long should have been honorable ...

Re: Cornell 2023

Unfortunate we will not play SU in the regular season, it’s hard for me to believe Cornell was the primary factor for this considering how we have scheduled in the past to accommodate. 4 returning players in the top 50 with 2 in the top 5 and Long is likely close behind. I’m excited to see how our d...

Re: Cornell 2022

My guess is that Connor’s career journey may go beyond head coaching and at some point move to major league sports administration/leadership, I think that may be when we lose him. Then hopefully we have Jordan Stevens step in.
