Re: Denver Pioneers 2024

This was the first game I watched Denver play this year and I came away super impressed with how active the defense is. A lot of aggressive stick checks - always on the opposing players hands. Is that how they've played all year? It's making defense a weapon, which is great.

Re: UVA 2024

Couldn’t agree with you more on Charlottesville. Had I gotten a job there in 1974 I would probably never have moved back to Baltimore. As a terp alum it’s hard to argue. The only advantage college park has over those other mentioned places is how easy it is to get to DC (and about to be easier once...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024

Great run by Hopkins this year, and this Terps fan tips his cap to the team. Just a very tough and skilled group of kids who were a tough matchup for anyone.

Re: QF #3 Hopkins vs #6 Virginia Sunday @2:30

Petro just popped a bottle of wine in Chapel Hill, 9 years since the Final Four. This team is several orders of magnitude better now than where he left it. The only bottles he's popping are for his blood thinners That’s pretty great. lol. Sorry, but PM will never accomplish what Petro did as a coac...

Re: QF #4 Syracuse vs #5 Denver Sunday @ noon

Really? Syracuse is going to the THE favorite going into next year? Of course... They bring back Spallina :D Five 20+ goal scorers return including the top 2. An excellent FOGO. Most of the defense. Yup. Top-5 team for sure. Top 5 agreed easy. They do have some losses (like all teams do). Will Mark...

Re: Maryland 2024

What an unbelievable game and win. So many clutch moments from the Terps. Like Maltz shooting from distance for his last two goals. Spanos, who had been utterly dominated by Brower, riding hard and getting the ball back after a bad to in the 4th. Brennan’s third goal of the season. Erksa making magi...

Re: Teams you won’t recognize in 2025

Notre Dame loses a bunch: Pat Kavanaugh, Eric Dobson, Liam Entemann, Reilly Gray, Chris Conlin, Devon McLane, Marco Napolitano, Carter Parlette, Ross Burgmaster. Still think they will be pretty good next year, but that's a lot. Potential for Faison as well if he has a strong fall and decides to foc...

As was Zappitello. Best one on one defense I've seen in a long while. Even when Mackesey got a step on him, which was rare, he'd hit him with a sneaky ass lift check and dislodge the ball. Unbelievable to watch that performance.

Re: #7 Maryland vs Princeton Saturday @ 7:30

Maryland won by 5 early in the year. Princeton had a lot of guys seeing playing time for the first time in their careers. A lot of player development has taken place since then and offensive and def rotations have been settled. Maryland won by 6. You make it seem like Princeton hadn't played anyone...

Re: Maryland 2024

Offensive coaching turnover. This could take a few years to resolve. Tillman was lucky to find Phipps at the last minute. I think this group needs a screaming, table flipping, highly emotional coach right now. Like true middies, the team doesn’t have that. This offense had a lot of time to get read...

Re: Maryland 2024

The turnovers are largely down to what we've talked about, there's no space on the offensive end and no one dodges with conviction, so they just force passes. You also only have 2 or 3 players who have the high level lacrosse IQ for the offense they want to run, and one of them in Malever has next ...

Re: Maryland 2024

I think one thing that has really surprised me this year with the Terps is just how they don't seem to be great at the fundamentals. Basic passing and catching has been an issue on offense all year (lots of bad passes leading to turnovers), clearing, etc. Ground balls they've been typically Maryland...

Re: UVA @ Syracuse Sat. 4/20 2 pm

End of game, two plays decided the difference. Watch the videos. First play is UVA up 17-16, 1.50 left. Most of UVA is ball watching…and btw, what in the universe is 44 doing? He’s going to the other end? He’ll come into focus again shortly. Is UVA really allowing a long stick defenseman to scoop u...

Re: Maryland 2024

I actually think Spanos should be at X. While he leads the team in shooting percentage, he’s best around the cage with some shooting ability. He’s just a natural attackman, not an middie. And he’s got really good vision. Just wish he’d be more selfish (actually wish ANY of them would be). Ford is re...

Re: Tewaaraton Award 2024

My $0.02 on the Tewaaraton 2024. Pending Yale, UVA, and Cornell team tournament results, and obviously remaining individual output, today my ranking is the following: 1. Matt Brandau 2. Connor Shellenberger 3. CJ Kirst I don’t seee anyone else remotely close to these three. Nor do I see anyone else...
