Re: Maryland 2024

Playing games in large empty football stadiums…. https://laxallstars.com/quints-holiday-wish-list/ i'm a RU fan and i'm not a fan of them playing in the big stadium. looks bad visually when watching on TV or online. never been to a maryland game but i'm sure it's a similar experience. i liked when ...

Re: Transfer Portal 2025

Is Buchner going back to ND? He played football there before Bama Kid seems to have portalitis. Maybe it works out, but not a bet I would make. Look at this guys college experience. And he tried a fourth but doesn’t list it like a job hopper that would rather cut one short one over having even more...

Re: Maryland 2024

For the guys I’ve observed as long fans of MD Football, I was chatting w Jarmo(lowich) today and he was bummed by the passing of Frank Wycheck who I didn’t even remember during college but certainly in the NFL. In college, he was all over the field. They'd use him as a RB. They'd use him as in-line...

Looks like FSU is serious about leaving the ACC in light of being left out of the College Football playoffs, and looking at the Big Ten. The thread has a good explanation of how they could survive the GOR issue.

Re: IL's Top 50 Men's College Lacrosse Players For 2024

Nothing against Scott, again, but it's kind of funny if you want to even put it historically. Spallina had the highest scoring freshman season in D1 last year, and the third highest scoring freshman year in Syracuse history. While Rutgers has had multiple excellent players come through their doors, ...

Re: IL's Top 50 Men's College Lacrosse Players For 2024

As a Delaware fan JP Ward and Mike Robinson should be on this list. JP had 85 points and is top ten in returning scorers. Mike had 48 points and a nice hat trick for Team Canada USA game. I am also used to it, IL only gives love to the ACC B10 and Ivy who def have the best teams, it would however j...

Re: IL's Top 50 Men's College Lacrosse Players For 2024

I like Brandau but like many things involving lacrosse, your reputation coming in can carry you a long way as well as past success. I will say, Brandau may have been game planned more so Lyons can get some easier opportunities. Being #1 on the opposing team’s scout is meaningful. It’s actually a ve...

Re: IL's Top 50 Men's College Lacrosse Players For 2024

Mackesy, Brandau and Lyons are in that mix. Zappitello Will be in that 6-10 group Michael Boehm completes the list?? That seems high, but I can not imagine him not making the list. How is Spallina on list? Don't love the hype he gets, but he had 55 points as a freshman and it's not a leap of faith ...

Re: Maryland 2024

Maybe you are right. Maybe his wife wanted to be closer to her family. Maybe he really really loves New England. But given: 1. The destination: again this isn’t a D1 or high level D3 opening. And let’s not pretend like Colby backed up the Brinks truck. 2. The brevity of his stay at UMD: it’s not li...

Re: Maryland 2024

Heard McNaney was in cage taking shots Tills put a picture on IG video showing the goalies working out. Unclear if McNaney was one of them, but one them did appear to be wearing a leg brace. Kid must absolutely be chomping at the bit to get back out there. But not sure what that means for a return ...

That's really sweet of you to come to our board to say this.

I'd say I had great fun watching anyone play Hopkins in football but like...do they even have a football team there?

Re: USA Magazine Way Early Rankings for 2024

Maryland's weak spot last year was in goal. If that improves, think they will definitely contend for top spot Agreed. Ruppel showed some promise at the beginning of the year and essentially won them the UVA game, but after UVA he went about 46% for the rest of the year which won’t cut it. I think L...

Re: USA Magazine Way Early Rankings for 2024

Hopkins has too many questions-faceoffs, offensive consistency, ssdms, new goalie, goalie depth, and not enough superstars to be that high. As a Terp fan, I look at it the other way. Hop returns nearly everyone (minus Mazzone, which admittedly is a big loss, but not as big a loss as Makar is for Ma...

Re: Fall Ball ‘23

People are misconstruing my statement about list club v. HS. It is merely a point that listing a HS will tell me where that kid is from. Listing a club can tell you nothing. As an example, we live in the DC area. There was club announcement of a kid committing to a college from this club's IG accou...

Here another list, 2025 recruits who NLF has cited, https://nlfrankings.com/list/2025-players/ I love it that these kids are listed by club team rather than HS team...and I mean "love" as in I hate it. My son's club team had much more to do with his development as a player than his high s...

Re: UVA 2024

Of course, that all depends on the team. would the 3rd or 4th best pole on last year's top 3 or 4 teams, likely be a #1 at many, but not all, D3 teams? Pretty sure that in general, yeah the 3rd pole on a top D1 would be the 1st pole on a D3 program. I know recruiting rankings you need to take with ...

Re: Face-off revisited

I get it at the college level wondering with kids and development whats best. Winning obviously but I’m dealing with kids. It’s easy to force a bad pass from an opponent if you don’t give them time but I wonder if I shirt change aspects of zone and team defense. By doing that regularly. It’s the se...

Re: Face-off revisited

i coach in NJ and we don't have a shot clock. My oldest kid plays in NJ HS and I wish we had a shot clock ;) But the college version, not the stupid PLL version of this year. You're coaches or in your roles do you play up on the ball outside the box, try to force the offense to do something, or sit...
