Re: How many schools will drop lacrosse?

Will colleges be up and running fall 2020? There have been a number of states with increasing Covid cases. With all due respect, I'm not attacking you in particular, but if anyone, at this point, is getting their news on COVID by flipping on the Today show, or your local news broadcast, you're gett...

The petition to change the name of the city of Lynchburg is getting attention in the press, and momentum: https://www.wric.com/news/virginia-news/online-petition-calls-for-city-of-lynchburg-to-be-renamed/. Many Americans seem to be in the mood to tear down our history and start fresh. Makes one wond...

Re: How many schools will drop lacrosse?

Bowling Green State University has reinstate its baseball program effective immediately. In just days baseball alumni and donors have committed $1.5 million over the next three years. During this time, the University, in partnership with a select group of baseball alumni, will pursue a long-term fu...

D3 Program and Schedule Status Updates

I have been visiting these boards long enough to know that there are a number of folks contributing to the discourse here who could be considered "insiders" in the lacrosse world. And, there are many of us who are anxiously trying to calibrate whether D3 programs will be impacted by the CO...

Re: VA Public School Lacrosse

"“Any options for the spring sports season would require that COVID-19 no longer be a threat and pose no health risks to our student-athletes or to the public." "No health risk" is a ludicrous standard that demonstrates economic illiteracy. Every minute of everyday, every person...

Re: NESCAC 2020

ED commitments are easier to get out of than you think. Seen it a million times as a college coach myself. It's all about the reasons. Health, mental well being. Those will rarely if ever be challenged by admin. Even if the student said they were not feeling comfortable about the current situation ...

Re: Transfer Portal

Dean friend said his info was Lasalle was done just a matter of timing. Mt Ida in Mass was consolidated into UMass Dartmouth a year or two ago. Have heard Hartwick is pretty distressed, dropping down to D3 in soccer and giving up that unique hook was just a canary in the coal mine. I think for a no...

Re: Transfer Portal

TX twitter .@LafayetteMLAX freshman defenseman Beaudan Szuluk has entered the NCAA's transfer portal, according to a source. Named a 4-star recruit out of Avon Old Farms (Conn.), he started all six games for the Leopards, racking up 11 GB's and six CT's as a rookie. I saw this kid play a few times ...

Ty Xanders reporting that Brendan Hoffman (Williams), Mitch Wykoff (Gettysburg), Jon Coffey (Amherst), Peter Pitroff (Denison) and Michael McCormack (Middlebury) have entered the Transfer Portal. It's getting crowded in there. And this is probably just the beginning. I don't want to add any negativi...

Re: Lacrosse cancelled because of Coronavirus??

I just read that Ivy Leauge is cancelling the rest of their season - https://www.uslaxmagazine.com/college/men/ivy-league-announces-cancelation-of-spring-sports-including-lacrosse. Anyone hear about D2 programs thinking of doing the same? Jakester, when the NBA suspends their season and Mar...

My youngest son is a Senior this year and I just got off the phone with him. The emotion and the gravity of this being the end of a journey is setting in. I’m sure there are a lot of us out there having these conversations tonight. As a father, I looked so forward to this moment for so long and to ...

This is so terribly disappointing.

Not sure what the endgame is here. I guess we'll all just sit at home indefinitely, then, watching the news.

Re: Connecticut 2020

Hand likely will be down somewhat this year after losing their only 2 really top shelf dominant players in Swank and Fitzmaurice. In M, who knows, they could still make a run but certainly won’t be playing N.C. close if they meet in the tourney. NF will take a massive step back. They certainly will...

Two very intriguing matchups tonight, but if you have Xfinity you can't watch them on the ACC Network.

Very unfortunate situation. I have been reluctant to sit down and figure out the alternative, but I may just have to do it.

I hope you are right. The Conference will improve a lot when the bottom 3rd becomes respectable. I know a kid who put his name in the transfer portal at the end of the first semester of this year, and the very first coach to reach out to him was the Allegheny coach. He's trying hard, and it's a sch...

Sarro is 28 assists away from the all time record. Played in many more games to be fair so on a per game basis which is how any scoring record should be tabulated it’s different... This has stood for at least 40 years going back to Nike’s national title. A far cry from today’s performance Pray tell...

Disappointing start, but to be expected with a very young team. Definitely missing Davies presence in goal. Defense seems to lack the usual stalwart from past years. Not much optimism taken from today. Tough to be optimistic when the other guys score 20+, but I'll give it a try because I'm Mr. Brig...

Re: LIBERTY LEAGUE 2020

Fortunately Burns and Gannon are back too. SLU defense generally is pretty strong. Most of last years offense is back too. They did go 14-4 and were competitive vs RIT. I am cautiously optimistic about this year. As am I. The freshman FO kid is a stud, and Mapstone has unlimited potential. I like S...
