Re: Big Ten 2022
Every B1G team except Michigan has a better win on the board than any of the ACC teams at this point. PSU even has a better win (Yale) than any of the ACC teams. If you combine both leagues and take Maryland out, the best win from the rest of the group is UVA's and OSU's win over #9 UNC. The rest o...

Re: Big Ten 2022
What a blessing that huge UMD win was. Really helped covered up what a horrible week the Big Ten had as a whole heading into conference play: Penn State loss to unranked Bucknell Hopkins loss to unranked Navy Michigan almost doubled up by #17 ND Ohio State loss to unranked Denver Hopkins loss to unr...

#1 getting away with two crease violations in two games. Did any one ask him how he felt about the 3 controversial call? Also How fast is this game? Kudos to Tillman and his players for their amazing class and maturity regarding the call. No bitching, no whining, no tirade. As Fairman said, it was ...

Re: Lacrosse Analytics
Your model has Penn v Army and UVA v RMU both as coin flips. We'll see how those play out, but it sure seems like your ELO model needs some work.

Offense was pitiful in the 6v6 and the defense got bailed out by an unreal goalie performance. Could easily see them go 0-2 this week.

Re: Big Ten 2019
The B1G will be a 4-bid league (Md, PSU, OSU, RU/JHU). The ACC...not so sure. Duke and Syracuse (given their zillion home games) will probably make the tournament, as will Notre Dame. You never know what UVA will do. I don't see UNC making it. How you can you consider OSU a shoe in and be confident...

Re: Big Ten 2019
I don't think it does even itself out. By saying that, you are saying that High Point and Richmond are bad teams, hence they were bad losses. In my opinion, that is not true. I've seen both teams play multiple games this season, in particular: Duke/Richmond MSM/Richmond Bonny/High Point High Point/...

Re: Big Ten 2019
Very quiet from this board. A lot of chest thumping early in the season about the conference being head and shoulders above the rest, maybe a 5 bid league. How many top 20 OOC wins does the team have through 6 weeks? PSU: One (#3 Cornell) Maryland: One (#19 Colgate) OSU: None JHU: None Rutgers: None...

Re: Inside Lacrosse rankings
I contend Brown would have won the national championship a couple years back if Molloy didn't get hurt. Doesn't mean anything. UNC still got the rings.

Re: Inside Lacrosse rankings
I'm a little surprised that Ohio State didn't get any bump from the media, given they are one of the last three major unbeaten teams remaining. I'm not. It's good to see the pollsters refuse to vote directly off record and factor in SOS. Who has Ohio State played? Their best win is to BU, who also ...

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)
Doubting the Face-Off Yearbook's rank of JHU's attack unit. They are missing a quarterback. If you think Williams can easily fill that role a year after putting up 14 assists in 17 games you are overly optimistic. The kid is great but that's not his game.
Would have went with CU at the top spot.

Re: Big Ten 2019
Interesting seeing Rutgers at #4. I feel like they lost more too graduation then OSU/Mich and weren't that far ahead of them last year to begin with. They knocked it out of the park with their assistant coach hirings but still don't think that will be enough to make up for the drop in talent level.

Re: VIRGINIA Lacrosse
They also had an outstanding goalie who didn't mind (perhaps even thrived on) the high frequency of shots they gave up because of their total field aggressiveness. (My son had the same attitude with a much less able defense, so I very much appreciated Kelly's play as a big part of giving confidence...

Re: Who wins it all in 2019?
Don't see ND having the firepower to make it this year. I don't know about that. They bring back their three best: Costabile, Garnsey, and Gleason, and have some sophomores who might step up and a couple of top freshmen showing up. Scoring against ND quickly can be tough, and now you have to do it ...

I'm taking Duke, Yale, Loyola, and Cornell for the final four with UMD, UVA, PSU, and UMASS as their quarterfinal opponents.

Re: VIRGINIA Lacrosse
The third D slot was a merry go round last year and that walk-on was a marginal player at best - 6 players were rotated through close D in the ND game if you recall and that game was a D disaster. Coaches have no confidence in this D. Weak argument laxmaven. Sure they played 6 defenders in the ACC ...
