8-7 with the #2 SOS. This doesn't bother me.
Hopkins and Notre Dame schedules are blueprints for how all the top programs should schedule - except I would recommend to Notre Dame scheduling 13 regular season games instead of 12.

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)

Hopkins has a very winnable quadrant (heck even the whole half) of the bracket. @Notre Dame, Duke, UVA/Towson/UMCP would be the likely path to the title game. My personal opinion is that Yale and Penn State are the best two teams, and they are both in the other half of the bracket - would meet in t...

Duke as the 2 seed is hilarious to me. I seriously audibly said WHAT?!? when it was announced.

Re: 2019 Bracketology Thread

If Cornell doesn't get in, they will have two teams to blame, and neither of them are Hopkins: 1. Loyola, for not winning the Patriot League and taking up their at-large spot 2. Maryland, for losing twice in a week to Hopkins And themselves, of course. Every team that is even somewhat on the bubble...

Re: 2019 Bracketology Thread

It would have been polite for Admin to clearly state... It would have been polite for ICGrad to note that, according to laxbytes, JHU is also in and it is Syracuse that is out. Not my opinion, the opinion of laxbytes. You act like laf/laxbytes is the last word on the bracket. The percentage chance ...

admin wrote: Sun May 05, 2019 4:38 pm Hawk, I'd really like to see the actual formulas for each of the relevant RPIs that we put stock into. At one time, an RPI was an RPI. Ws and Ls and 25%, 50%, 25%. Today, very different.
Yes, I agree, I would prefer increased transparency.

Re: 2019 Bracketology Thread

What changed for you to join those of us on the "Cornell is out" side? Based on Ws and Ls, We'd still say SU and Notre Dame, in that order. Today's games created more distance between them. Based on RPI (actually SRPI, but whatever), it's Cornell. We don't like RPI. Logic and the universe...

Unless something has been updated that I haven't seen, Syracuse held on to 10th. Maryland finished 11th.

Re: 2019 Bracketology Thread

Pretty interesting that Syracuse hasn't gotten much discussion in the bubble talk. 10th in RPI with that loss to Colgate. The committee isn't supposed to weight when a win or loss occurred. Each game is supposed to carry equal importance. That Colgate loss is a bad loss...if not the worst loss of a...

Re: Cornell 2019

I just dont see the RED getting chosen over MD, Cuse, Loyola, ND, or JHU. I sadly agree. Cornell has a tournament worthy resume to me, but so do all of the other teams that you mentioned. Eight at-large bids was one too few this year for everyone to get in. No matter who the first team out is, it w...

Hopkins clearly should apply RRR's idea that only W-L record matters and schedule the entirety of the MAAC and NEC each year. (not serious)

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)

At which point you shift ground to making equally unequivocal claims about Hopkins and Maryland. The point of the Maryland discussion was this: If we, as a hypothetical committee, have decided to emphasize a set of parameters where Towson (with a loss today) is evaluated ahead of Hopkins, those sam...
