Re: 2019 Bracketology Thread
If Loyola loses this game, the presumptive at-larges become:
4 ACC
PSU/JHU loser
Yale/Penn loser
Loyola
Maryland (probably)
Towson 100% becomes AQ or bust, and Cornell has to beat Yale tonight to stay in the conversation.

Re: Patriot League 2019
Army is controlling the ball, actually holding their own on faceoffs - limiting Loyola's possessions. And Loyola isn't fairing very well against their defense either.
So basically a complete butt whooping thus far. Loyola is probably lucky to only be down 2.

Re: 2019 Bracketology Thread
P.S. Update ... now the McNamara twins, blond UCLA women’s college beach volleyball players, taking on FSU. Sport gets better by the minute. :o  Yeah, it's freaking great. ESPNU is not showing the lacrosse game that their scheduled to be showing because of this. TV windows don't matt...

Re: Patriot League 2019
Loyola offense has forgotten to show up so far. Stover is having a very good game, though.
There are a lot of nervous people in the mid-Atlantic region of this country right now.
Army 3, Loyola 1. 2nd quarter.

Re: Urgent Question
I hope everything breaks wrong for Hopkins the rest of this weekend, so they still get in.DocBarrister wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 5:39 pm decided to tune in to the Patriot League semifinals between Army and Loyola, a game that can directly impact the NCAA tournament hopes of many teams, including Hopkins.

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)
Man some of these posts are going to age very poorly by Sunday night. People are worried about nothing. They keep moving the bar of what Hopkins needs to do to get themselves in. They're worrying themselves to death. Hopkins is in. It's done. There's nothing to worry about now. Almost everything fe...

Re: 2019 Bracketology Thread
This is rough because I didn't input any other results. Towson's RPI will drop from 6 to 10 with a loss to Drexel, and Cornell's will remain at 12 with a loss to Yale. Maryland would finish between them. The results of other games could change these numbers slightly, but Towson would be ahead in wha...

Re: 2019 Bracketology Thread
Hawk, what's the (possible) scenario where it's not UMD, JHU, Loyola, Cornell, SU, Towson (if, and only if, they win), etc.? If Towson loses to Drexel, and Cornell loses tonight to Yale, I think it comes down to what the committee values more - numbers or head-to-head, and how large the gap in the ...

Re: D1 Men Rankings
D1 MEN: JHU beat Maryland (again), PSU beat Rutgers, Drexel beat UMass, a pretty good upset with UMBC beating Stony Brook and... We've updated the Computer Rankings . As a reminder, we rank teams based on their resume, not just on head-to-head Ws and Ls. UNC strength of schedule at 3 is interesting.

Re: 2019 Bracketology Thread
Agreed that Loyola is safe no matter what. The teams that I think should be worried about Towson/Loyola not winning AQs are, roughly in order from least worried to most worried: Maryland Towson/Cornell The other 6-7 teams in the at-large discussion are absolute locks. The 4 ACC schools, JHU/PSU lose...

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)
You can't fire the guy after throttling Maryland twice in a week. I doubt there's going to be as much of an appetite for it among the alums/admin now regardless. Just the opposite. You give him a 3-year extension, with plenty of incentives BlG Title, FF) plus small buyout. Otherwise, recruits will ...

Re: 2019 Bracketology Thread
I haven't looked into what happens to Cornell with a loss to Yale but it wouldn't surprise me if it rendered them bubble out. Anyway not quite as cut and dried as Hawkeye's projections. If Towson and Loyola take AQs, I don’t see anyone with a resume to bump Cornell out of the 8th at-large spot (eve...

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)
I had the same two in mind. I can’t see Hopkins being sent to any higher than the 6 seed if they lose on Saturday. It will depend on how everyone else does.
I would personally rather play Penn than Loyola again.
