Re: Yale 2020
Re: the US U19 squad, the articles I read did reference the coaches having to “pare down” the final roster to 23 from 26 and included a quotation about how it would be difficult and that it would mainly be about choosing the positions they needed. Here’s the Inside Lacrosse take: https://www.inside...

Re: Should 1 Program be Able to Compete in Multiple Divisions?
There is a balancing act between letting kids have the chance to play their best lacrosse and coaches wanting to control talent. The public school "club" programs in Texas are allowed to draw from multiple schools. I see no reason why a club program that draws from more than one high scho...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
Owen Murphy didn’t make the U19 squad. Based on the video posted by lax.com he scored two goals in the game against the Hill Academy. Both goals were caught and shoot shots. Thought for sure that he’d be a lock and at least a man down specialist

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
Maybe it's just because I'm a Syracuse fan, but if the JHU Head Coach's sons are good enough to play at JHU, it would seem very strange to me if they decide to attend a different school. I am not - I am disappointed - but not surprised nor do I think it that strange. I can think of several reasons ...

Re: Maryland 2020
I watched Malever during a couple of UA events. He is quick and put up some highlight type goals. But can tell he has not played with or against top talent. Turns the ball over alot and misses open guys alot. IQ needs some work. With that said, I think his upside is huge if he can learn how to real...

Re: VIRGINIA LACROSSE 2020
Not sure if anyone caught the two scrimmage games against the US and Canada, but Peyton Cormier looked really good. He's gonna be an issue especially when he's running out of the box with Dox.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
Any idea what the starting lineup looked like? Who was the number 2 goalie? That much is impossible to glean from the video. For Penn's first goal, I see Colwell (#14), Rapine (#17), Hubler (#55), McManus (#77), and Blondell (#35) out there. The defensive personnel appears to change in pretty much ...

Re: Denver 2020
IL just put out their top freshmen classes. At least going by IL, Denver has the number 14 freshmen class. Owen Hiltz was upgraded, again the IL bugaboo, to the number 3 recruit for 2020. Alec Stathakis was upgraded to number 4 for 2019. At least the Culver pipeline seems to be holding. Not great c...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
Not a coach per se, but a member of the staff told me that the ‘fun’ scrimmage against the alumni could be used for ‘scouting’ purposes. That’s just ridiculous and pathetic. I can’t argue with lameness, but as a Hopkins grad I was sorely disappointed how far my university’s lax program has fallen. ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
Kiss that next class good by. At least the top players. A few people who know squat A little cryptic as usual - can you elaborate for us chuckleheads? Are you saying Grimes, McDermott, Bauer are decommiting regardless or are you saying that happens if Hopkins jettisons Petro? I have no idea how to ...

Re: VIRGINIA LACROSSE 2020
Random note, but Taylor Musa from Riverside Hs Va (4A State Champs '17, '19) is attending UVA in the fall. I wonder if he is a potential walk-on player. He was previously committed to Colgate and is the all-time leader scorer in Virginia High school lacrosse history. Not sure he is wants to play or ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
Don't mean to irk the JHU faithful but some answers to my question on Calvert Halll elevate rather than answer. Making no inferences, just noting and asking. As responded, Im aware kids from MIAA and other local powerhouses are visible and being recruited by many but Im aware that many are still go...

Re: U-19 tryouts
I understand that people are upset about 4 OSU players being selected to the top 32, but if you look at who those players are you'll see that they are Christian Tomei (goalie) who was a UA all American, the Mitchell twins (midfield) one was a UA all american and the other battled injuries this sprin...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
Random note on the goalie situation: I keep seeing videos of Alex Gainey training with GoalieSmith coaches in Baltimore. He must have stayed in Baltimore over the summer to train. He’s definitely a dark horse.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
