Re: Recruiting

agreed on Stanford. Combo of new coach, "top recruiting class" a few years ago and moving to a high end conference seemed like a trifecta for a juggernaut program of year by year growth and great recruiting potential that has not panned out. Couple that with some lack of mental toughness a...

Re: Recruiting

ND, Stanford and USC seem very slow on the recruiting front this year.

Re: Yale 2025

There are a couple of big football players in the freshman class. Should be an interesting group.

Re: Recruiting

I have only looked briefly but there seemed to be a lot of comments across the board regarding how coaches treat players who are not starters. It is possible that this is stemming from a chip on the shoulder of the player and/or parents who, upon being a fantastic high school player and coveted recr...

Re: Recruiting

Rankings also become influenced by where players commit. Multiple girls in my daughter's class were strong players for top clubs but once they committed to schools like BC, ND, VA their rankings shot up yet many of those same players have not yet panned out in college.

Re: Recruiting

We have not navigated that situation but I have some thoughts. First far from home is more of a mind set than a reality. Even if you are at your local state school you are not coming home much more than Thanksgiving, Christmas and summer breaks. And while you may not make as many home games out west...

Re: Yale 2025

Yale is scrimmaging UNC and probably another local team in Baltimore end of September and another game at home against an international team early October. I think that is all scheduled so far.

Re: Summer Lacrosse before FR year

He will get an extensive workout plan from his college coaches that will keep him busy and play in a college league. My son's program is heavy on the lifting side so he also gets together regularly with other college players and rising college freshmen to shoot and do small group field work together...

Re: Recruiting

Absolutely on Madison Taylor and she is part of a group of 21 players that have had the most success so far in that class (AA, All Conference and multi year starters) from which 3 are top 10 players and 8 are top 50.

Re: Recruiting

Again only one year snapshot but having roughly one third of the top 50 ranked players/Senior game honorees from 2022 having solid first two year college careers, one third contributors and one third not yet panning out is likely not what is expected going into the college career. No idea how this c...

Re: Recruiting

With the Senior games tonight it is interesting to use the earlier posting about the current status of the 2022 top 100 players to assess how the 2022 Senior game selection reflects college success to date at least as a snapshot of one class. Of the 46 players selected for the senior game all were i...

Re: Recruiting

Very interesting list. A few more take aways: --Total of 67 players listed so one third of top 100 2022 recruits have not yet panned out for their college teams. --34 of the 67 are from the WL so slightly more than from top 50 --From AA through starters there are 38 players with 23 from WL and 15 fr...
