Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
Schreiber is a great player. Does he have coaching experience? No and he's in the thick of his PLL and NLL careers. This wouldn't make any sense TS has 10 years playing professionally, at 32, I'd expect him to hang up the cleats in the next or so. He has nothing further to prove; coaching is the ne...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
At some point they need to unleash Kilrain in the transition game. That kid wants to GO. Between Smith and Kilrain they've got two defensemen who can really put the other team's transition D in a bind. And Deans had 5 pts in 10 games last year so we know he's capable too. Add in the Yale guys and t...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
Great post Potomac ... I would add a wrinkle to your conclusions. The observation that Hopkins was a slow tempo - deep in the shot clock team - not "hunting shots" as our UVA friend put it---- cannot be disputed. Therefore, it WAS a coaching philosophy decision. The observation is correct...

Re: My Decade Long Campaign For An Aggressive Defense
A lot of you folks are giving me a hard time about urging the Hopkins offense to get more aggressive. You say I’m delusional despite QK and other writers saying pretty much the same thing. You give me a hard time about saying Collison should dodge more. But some of you (HopFan16) say Collison has f...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
We may be ranked 6-8 early in the season, but we will probably (in actuality) be somewhere among the top 12 to 16 teams in the country early on. It’s going to take some time for our O and D to gel, and it will probably take a full season to replace the productivity of Angelus and Degnon. Neither Ba...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
Put him on ignore. Best decision I've made since joining this forum. 2025 season begins now for every team. Depends how the rest of the transfer portal shakes out but my guess is the Jays will be ranked in the back half of the top 10. Somewhere in the 6-8 range. Back-to-back quarterfinals earns the...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
One thing DiCicco has at his advantage is the system he has been running. It was something I didnt consider on Kilrain. Lawrenceville runs some of the most complex defensive schemes, you will see. So he will come to Hopkins and his head is not going to be swimming. Interesting point - it often seem...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
Thanks! Been an amazing (and tiring) ride so far.DocBarrister wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2024 11:26 pm
Caring for my baby girl was the closest thing I felt to being on call again. Feeding every couple of hours.
Congratulations! Enjoy the time … they grow up faster than Collison passing up a dodge against a SSDM!

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
I know there can;t be trades in the college game but can we keep Potomac River through the portal and maybe have someone transfer out? Great analysis on Collison's yesterday I've got notes on every offensive possession - this is what happens when you have a newborn who refuses to sleep at night unl...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
Collison didn’t push the SSDM matchups this season because that was not the role he was assigned most of the time. Collison is unusual because he is a big man who has excellent stick skills and body control … like a lot of Canadian players, he works well inside. His role was to set up a dodge for s...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
Bauer was not a week to week or even month to month 1st line midfielder. They had too many offensive guys who you could not count on. I'm more than ok with them moving on from him and Evans. Phillips and Marquis had opportunities the last 2 years and did not show anything. As for English you're ask...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
Welcome and thank you for the level-headed post. Need more of that around here to drown out the two rubes You make a lot of good points, namely correctly identifying the shortcomings on offense and how it can improve. Injuries aren't an excuse — every team has them — but losing English did a real n...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
Longtime reader of the forum even back to Laxpower days (and Hopkins alum), finally decided to join in. First off congrats to the 2024 senior class, they went through a roller coaster during their tenure but led the program out from its nadir and leave it with a bright future. At the risk of echoing...
