Re: Mental Health, Abuse and reporting in Women's Lacrosse
And to finish this exchange, I was born in and lived my entire life in Essex County. Yes that’s Northern NJ. I was educated in South Orange and Newark and have been practicing law in Northern NJ for 35+ years, where I continue to own real property, business interest and maintain a law practice…. my ...

Re: Mental Health, Abuse and reporting in Women's Lacrosse
Well I can say this exchange has made our family decision a layup. … Colgate is off the list of potential schools. Thank you for saving us the time and money visiting campus with our children.

Re: Mental Health, Abuse and reporting in Women's Lacrosse
If I wanted to include more details, I would have. We can all agree that it is unusual to have administrators monitor behavior of a school employee for what is essentially an extracurricular activity. Would Colgate do the same monitoring for a science lab, musical production, or a club team. I have ...

Re: Mental Health, Abuse and reporting in Women's Lacrosse
a similar situation involving players and a coach at a Northern Nj all girls, private high school was similarly handled. After several families made complaints, and another transferred, The school assigned an administrator to attend each practice and game. Counselors were also assigned for the stude...

Re: Mental Health, Abuse and reporting in Women's Lacrosse
Colgate update: Yesterday, another player left the team for an undetermined amount of time on a mental health break. The college was notified. All 3 coaches boycotted practice before the game yesterday and refused to meet the team in the locker room in protest of “outside voices”. The coaches met th...

The kids (and perhaps some parents) will have plenty of time to get some perspective. i suggest reading:

Re: Holy Cross
Great discussion. From personal knowledge and experience, as a parent of a player who played at HC for coach Burke, he is a terrific person, coach and mentor -- same as Coach Lat -- who unfortunately ran into a tough stretch while he was trying to elevate the program. The kids performed well in the ...

Re: Is a 2021 season going to happen?
if colleges can play D-1 football, clearly Winter/Spring sports should proceed. no fans, or limited to player families -- with masks and social distancing. The lockdowns have shown not to be effective. its an individual decision how close to get to another or where to go and what to do. the kids hav...

Helmets/Head Gear?
A parent of two players; one @ D-1 and the other soon to be. Both have multiple teammates out due to concussions. Either suffered by stick to head blows or head to ground/body collision injuries. Any progress on mandating head gear across the board?

Contributions from all units. Need to Cut down TOs on the clear jumps out. Looks like there was improvement from all for a nice W against a good team. Well done.

Re: Holy Cross 2020
Looking past PC. Historically we do not play a consistent game against the Friars and it looks like last week was no different. Good outtakes to build upon. JT was spot on, the D is developing into a solid group with New and Conklin off to strong starts, FO team playing as expected. Too much talent ...

Re: PLL Should Stop the Fighting
Simple rule: first fight expelled from game and next (without pay). Second fight expelled from league. That will clean this up, not sure league will survive without fans attending games. But i will not bring my kids to what they are doing now.

Re: Recruiting/Prospect Camps
The outreaches to the coaches can/should begin prior to 9/1 of the junior year BUT with the understanding that a response will not be received until after that date. If your child has shown interest in the school/program, attended on campus camps/clinics and demonstrates both an academic and athleti...

PLL Should Stop the Fighting
I do not understand the tolerance by NBC or the powers within the PLL that permits AND promotes on the field fighting. The league claims to have professional athletes, the best around. If so, they should have self control. IMO they will not grow beyond a niche sport and reach/retain a large audience...

Re: 2019 summer transfers
Let's hope the transferring among schools is the exception and not the rule. I believe that the best school is the one in which a child can learn, grow and develop as an intellect and person. Makes no sense to attend an institution if one cannot handle the academic challenges or compete with the no...
